  • Patent number: 10357170
Abstract: A method, system and apparatus for determining the state of a muscle between a normal non-tired state, a tired state and a passive involuntary tension state. A signal from the muscle is recorded at rest by using an electrode arrangement, where an earth body may prevent the electrodes from picking up signals beyond the extent of the earth body. The frequency content of the signal is determined by spectral analysis, e.g. by computing a moment of the spectrum. A normal frequency content indicates a non-tired muscle state, whereas a low and a high frequency content indicate a tired and a passive involuntary tension muscle state.

  • Patent number: 8819596
Abstract: A control system basing on the use of gestures and functioning especially in mobile terminals. The gesture control system is provided with a general purpose interface (320) with its commands for applications (310) to be controlled. The processing software (330) of the gesture signals includes a training program (331), trained free-form gestures made by the user being stored in the gesture library, and a recognizing program (332), which matches a gesture made by the user to the stored gestures and chooses the most similar gesture thereof. Gestures can hence be used as commands for controlling any application configured or programmed to receive the command. One and the same application functions in different models of mobile terminals without matching, and in a certain mobile terminal all applications can be run, which applications use specified interface commands. The application (310) can be e.g. a game or activity being included in basic implementation of a mobile terminal.

  • Patent number: 8407593
Abstract: A mobile terminal includes a user interface specified at least in part by a user. The mobile terminal includes a user interface specification unit that operates in accordance with a programmed data processor to select, in cooperation with the user, at least one trigger and an action, which together form a rule; to automatically generate a directory structure comprising a set of available events in accordance with a hierarchical information model; to select, in cooperation with the user, at least one trigger value from the available set of events and to define an action to be performed by the mobile terminal in responsive to the at least one trigger value being satisfied.

  • Patent number: 7685433
Abstract: Movement of a living object is measured by a movement sensor carried by one living object at a time for forming one measurement signal per one living object. The measurement signal is compared with a predetermined reference signal which may be measured from a known living object in a similar way. A recognition operation is performed based on the comparison between the measurement signal and the predetermined reference signal, the recognition operation resulting in recognition or non-recognition.

  • Patent number: 7194239
Abstract: The invention relates to an electronic device and a method for managing the keyboard of the electronic device. The electronic device comprises a keyboard and a processing unit connected to the keyboard over a data transmission connection, the processing unit being configured to determine the appearance of the keyboard, receive information generated by pressing of a keyboard key and identify the key that was pressed on the basis of the information. The processing unit is also configured to collect information on the key presses and carry out an analysis of them, and to re-determine the appearance of the keyboard on the basis of the collected information and the analysis carried out so as to make the keyboard more ergonomic for the user, which makes the use of the keyboard easier and/or the pressing of a wrong key less likely.

  • Patent number: 7170428
Abstract: The invention relates to an electronic device and a method of managing a virtual keyboard of the electronic device. The device comprises a touch pad (106), a processing unit (600) and a feedback unit (612), which provides tactile feedback unit (612) for the user. The processing unit (600) is configured to determine a virtual keyboard (104) for the touch pad (106) and a tactile appearance of the keyboard (104), receive information generated by the pressing of a keyboard (104) key and identify the key that was pressed on the basis of the information. The processing unit (600) is further configured to collect information on the key presses and carry out an analysis of them, and re-determine the tactile appearance of the keyboard (104) on the basis of the collected information and the analysis carried out so as to make the keyboard more ergonomic for the user, which makes it easier to use the keyboard (104) and/or the pressing of a wrong key less likely.

  • Patent number: 7062280
Abstract: System and method for identifying various types of room facilities to find out and take into account space information. A tag of a space (S2) is included in the fluctuation of the intensity of the light emitted by a lamp (LF1) provided in the space in question. The receivers included in the system are arranged e.g. in commercial mobile stations (R1). These are provided with a light detector and with a DSP algorithm that analyses the signal given by said light detector. As a result of the analysis, for instance the mobile station is automatically switched off when entering the space in question. There is neither needed a separate transmitter nor separate energy supply arrangements to send the space tag, and the space tag signal can be detected throughout said space. As regards the mobile station, the space-specific operations can be performed automatically, so that the mobile station user does not need to bother, and his possible negligence does not prevent the precautions from being executed.

  • Patent number: 6983219
Abstract: To determine the movement of a device, a three-dimensional measurement of the device's acceleration is provided in known directions with regard to the device, and average signals of acceleration signals parallel to different axes are formed to allow tilt angles of the device with respect to gravity to be defined. Acceleration change signals are formed by removing the average signals from their respective acceleration signals parallel to the different axes. The acceleration change signals and the tilt angles of the device are used for forming a component of the acceleration change of the device, which component is parallel to gravity and independent of the position of the device.

  • Patent number: 6956506
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and arrangement for creating a virtual keyboard for a terminal (800) used in a cellular network. The virtual keyboard is generated using an IR transceiver arrangement (12) in which a reflection from an obstacle (15) placed in the field of IR transmitters is registered by discrete IR receivers. The received reflection data are processed in a neural network arrangement (33). The purpose of the data processing is to find out the virtual key position/function that the received reflection data corresponds to.
