  • Publication number: 20220273868
Abstract: Flow controllers for intravenous (IV) tubing are provided. A flow controller may include a first structural member comprising a first outer surface and a first inner surface disposed at an angle to the first outer surface, a second structural member comprising a second outer surface parallel to the first outer surface and a second continuous inner surface parallel to the first inner surface, and a third structural member disposed on one of the first or second structural member and having a friction-reducing surface for at least a portion of a cavity disposed between the first and second structural members. The first structural member is linearly slidable along a length of the IV tubing disposed in the cavity to compress a portion of the IV tubing to control flow of a medical fluid through the IV tubing. Other flow controllers and IV sets that include a flow controller are also provided.

  • Patent number: 11369737
Abstract: Flow controllers for intravenous (IV) tubing are provided. A flow controller may include first and second structural members defining a cavity therebetween for a portion of the tubing, wherein the first structural member is linearly slidable along a length of the tubing to compress at least part of the portion of the tubing to control flow of a medical fluid through the tubing. A flow controller may include a first ramped wedge structure, a second ramped wedge structure configured to slide over the first ramped wedge structure to compress a portion of the IV tubing disposed between the first ramped wedge structure and the second ramped wedge structure, a yoke having a linear slot, a wheel having a pin that is radially separated form a center of the wheel and is slidably disposed in the linear slot, and a transfer structure coupled to the yoke and the first ramped wedge structure. IV sets that include a flow controller are also provided.

  • Patent number: 11058861
Abstract: Roller clamps are described herein. A roller clamp includes a housing, a roller wheel, and a locking device. The housing includes a first wall and a second wall, wherein the first wall and the second wall are spaced apart to define a longitudinal channel therebetween, the housing including an upper opening and a lower opening configured to allow a tubing to pass through the longitudinal channel. The roller wheel is disposed at least partially within the longitudinal channel and configured to engage the tubing, the roller wheel including a plurality of teeth extending from an outer surface of the roller wheel, wherein a longitudinal position of the roller wheel relative to the channel adjusts a flow rate through the tubing. The locking device is releasably engaged to the housing and the roller wheel, wherein the locking device prevents movement of the roller wheel from the longitudinal position.

  • Patent number: 10925808
Abstract: Tube management structures for an automatic compounder system are provided. A tube management structure may be implemented as a backpack attached to a pump cartridge of the compounder system. Flexible tubing may extend from an output port of the pump cartridge into an internal recess of the backpack. A connector may be provided on an end of the tubing that extends out of the backpack through an opening in the backpack. An additional opening may be provided in the backpack in which the connector may be stored when the cartridge is not in use by the system. The compounder system may include a sensor configured to view the connector through an opening in the cartridge when the connector is disposed in the additional opening. The tubing may be pulled from within the backpack so that the connector can be connected to a receiving container.
