Abstract: A method and system for managing the supply of parts between a logistics provider and a manufacturer automatically detects usage of parts on a product line to automatically trigger a part pull request signal as a function of the detected usage. The detected usage signals are automatically translated to a shipping order that is forwarded over the public data network to a third party logistics provider at a separate geographic location. From the shipping order, a picking list is automatically generated by the third party logistics provider. Delivery information is then automatically generated based on the picking list and forwarded to the manufacturer.
