Abstract: A filter plate assembly for a filter press, comprising a filter frame and a filter plate supported on the filter frame. A diaphragm is provided between the filter frame and the filter plate, the diaphragm further comprising, on a side facing the filter frame, a seal bead for sealing the diaphragm against the filter plate. The seal bead comprises a first seal lip and a second seal lip, the former being elevated from the later. The filter frame has a limited vertical travel with respect to the filter plate, such that, in a lowermost position, only the first seal lip is in contact with the filter plate, and in an uppermost position, both the first seal lip and the second seal lip are in contact with the filter plate.

Abstract: A filtrate vat assembly for a filter press, including a filtrate vat defining a receptacle being laterally delimited by a border elevated from a base of the receptacle and open towards a side opposing the base. A gap is provided on the border, such that an outlet opening extending laterally through the border is formed, thereby providing a fluid drainage route from the receptacle, the gap being open towards the side opposing the base. The filtrate vat assembly further includes a lid covering the outlet opening from the side opposing the base, such that the outlet opening is delimited by the border and the lid.

Abstract: A filter plate subframe for a filter plate frame assembly having a filter plate frame and a filter plate subframe slidably receivable therein. The subframe comprises separate periphery segments attached to each other so as to form a continuous, generally rectangular periphery region with flank sides and end sides. The flank sides have a linear density lower than that of the end sides, and the end sides have a bending stiffness higher than that of the end flank, while either or both of the first end side and the second end side are provided with a reinforcement bar for increasing the bending stiffness said end sides. A supporting surface is provided on a first planar side of periphery segments forming the flank sides the supporting surface.

Abstract: A grid and a vat for a vat assembly of a vertical filter press such as a tower press is disclosed. The grid is provided with a topographical pattern engaging with a corresponding, inverse topographical pattern on the filtrate vat. The topographical patterns guide the filtrate flow towards a filtrate outlet and reduces the formation of vortices and turbulent flow of the filtrate, hence increasing the filtrate flow rate through the vat. Simultaneous, the topographical patterns improve secure attachment of the grid onto the vat, thereby allowing increased travel speed of the filter medium during advancement thereof. As a result, the cycle time of a filtration process may be reduced, and consequently, the overall capacity of the associated filter press is increased. A filtrate vat assembly and a vertical filter are also disclosed.

Abstract: A filter plate assembly which is resistant to both wear and deformation caused by creeping, while facilitating maintenance thereof. A filtrate vat is provided that is formed on, and integral with the filter plate, in addition to a separate, replaceable vat liner. In this way, a rigid structure of the filtrate vat capable of resisting deformation may be achieved, while the vat liner separates the filtrate from the filtrate vat and the associated filter plate, providing wear resistance and facilitating maintenance. The present disclosure further concerns the filter plate and the filtrate vat.

Abstract: An outlet piece assembly for a horizontal plate and frame-type filter, such as tower press. The disclosure is based on the idea of providing the outlet piece assembly as having a base removably attachable to a filter press (e.g., to the filter plate or plate frame thereof), and a lid removably fixed to the base, such that an internal conduit of the outlet piece assembly running between a vat end and a discharge end is formed between the base and the lid. This enables a part of an associated filtrate vat component, such as the vat liner, to be received between the base and the lid, thereby ensuring secure sealing between these components.

Abstract: A filter plate for a horizontal plate and frame-type filter, such as a tower press. A filtrate vat formed on, and integral with a filter plate is provided along with an outlet opening as a gap on a border delimiting the vat for providing drainage route, and a recessed portion provided at the outlet opening. A rigid structure of the filtrate vat that is capable of resisting deformation may be achieved, and contamination from slurry between the filter plate and a possible vat liner or coating is avoided.

Abstract: A sealing strip for sealing adjacent filter plate assemblies of a horizontal filter press. The disclosure is based on the idea of providing the sealing strip with a stiffener at a base portion of the sealing strip, positioned such that it intersects with a line running through a ridge provided on a distal portion of the sealing strip and extending along a vertical direction, perpendicular to both the length direction and the width direction of the sealing strip, as seen along the cross-sectional profile of the sealing strip. A filter frame, a filter frame assembly and a filter apparatus having such a sealing strip are also provided.

Abstract: A filter plate frame assembly and a horizontal filter press, in which accidental over pressurization of the filter diaphragm is prevented. A filter plate frame assembly having a separate subframe is provided with a limited vertical travel with respect to the filter frame and the filter plate, such that the subframe is allowed to drop away from the filter plate when the filter chamber is opened. This enables a diaphragm to be attached to the subframe such that an escape route is formed for a pressurized medium accidentally introduced between the filter plate and the diaphragm. Moreover, the limited travel of the subframe allows the subframe to be pressed towards the filter plate when the filter chamber is closed, thereby allowing normal operation of the diaphragm for squeezing a filter cake.

Abstract: A filter diaphragm for a horizontal plate and frame-type filter, such as a tower press, including a sheet like body and at least on a filter plate-facing side thereof, a continuous seal bead. The seal bead includes an inner seal lip on a lateral inside of the seal bead and an outer seal lip surrounding the inner seal lip on a lateral outside of the seal bead. The outer seal lip is elevated from the inner seal lip in a vertical direction perpendicular to a general plane defined by the diaphragm.

Abstract: A filter plate frame assembly with a filter plate frame and a subframe housed within the frame, such that the subframe can be removed from the frame without removing the frame from the filter press. In this way, consumable components can be provided in connection with the subframe, which can be easily removed from the filter press. This, in turn, makes replacement of worn components faster, as the whole frame does not need to be removed from the filter press. An associated horizontal filter press and a method of replacing worn components of such a filter press is also provided.
