  • Patent number: 6952600
Abstract: Controlling the presentation of audio data in a communication device includes receiving a certain first signal sequence with a microphone of the communication device, saving the first signal sequence to a temporary memory of a detector unit, receiving a certain second signal sequence with the microphone, and comparing the saved first signal sequence and the received second signal sequence to each other. If the compared signal sequences correlate, the received second signal sequence is attenuated before it is expressed with a loudspeaker or transmitted from an antenna.

  • Publication number: 20020191715
Abstract: The invention relates to controlling audio data of a mobile station while the mobile station has a connection with one or more mobile stations. In particular, the invention relates to controlling the presentation of audio data in a device, which is at a range of audibility from another device in the same active connection. In the method and equipment according to the invention, the presentation of audio data is controlled in a communication device of a telecommunication network so that a certain first signal sequence is received to the communication device and it is saved to the temporary memory of the detector unit. After this, a certain second signal sequence is received either from the network or via the microphone. The saved first signal sequence and the received second signal sequence are compared to each other, and if the compared signal sequences correlate, the received second signal sequence is attenuated before it is expressed with the loudspeaker or transmitted to the network.

  • Patent number: 6269093
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for suppressing transmitter burst mode disturbances in an audio band. The method and apparatus detects those signal frames wherein the input signal contains signal energy comprised substantially of only the disturbance signal; characterizes the disturbance signal in the detected signal frames to obtain a disturbance signal correction; and compensates the input signal, only for those signal frames where a transmission burst exists, using the obtained disturbance signal correction so as to remove the disturbance signal from those signal frames that contain voice, and also from certain signal frames that do not contain voice. Frequency hopping embodiments of disturbance removing circuitry are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5953675
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for processing information in a wireless local loop (WLL) terminal and a WLL terminal. According to the present invention, a WLL terminal comprises a display device, and character-based information, first data, is converted to second data for displaying it on the display. Said first data is advantageously converted in such a manner that a bitmap (222) is first formed on the basis of the character-based first data and then a line code (223) is formed on the basis of said bitmap. The line code is transferred (224, 225) by means of known facsimile transmission technology to a fax machine serving as a display device and displayed by the fax machine (226). The invention can be applied in wireless local loops to implement services that use information in character format. Such services include the short message service and display of caller data.
