  • Patent number: 5516924
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of refining glyceride oil comprising the step of degumming said glyceride oil, wherein said degumming step is followed by a separation step in which undissolved and non-centrifugable particles are removed from said degummed oil. Preferably said degumming step is followed by a step of holding the degummed oil for such a period of time and under such temperature conditions as to cause agglomeration of said undissolved particles, and for an agent promoting the formation of undissolved particles and/or promoting the agglomeration of the undissolved particles is added to the oil.

  • Patent number: 5352474
Abstract: Our invention concerns with ready-to-use non dairy creams with good storage stability, containing egg yolk and eggwhite. In fact, the composition of our creams is:0.05-0.5 wt % emulsifier0.5-8.0 wt % egg yolk0.01-1.0 wt % caseinate0.5-4.0 wt % egg white0-1.0 wt % thickener1-10 wt % carbohydrate25-45 wt % fatbalance: waterThe creams are sterile and display a water activity of 0.95-1.0.Also a process for the preparation of such non dairy creams is part of the invention.

  • Patent number: 5264597
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for refining glyceride oil comprising the steps of contacting the oil with amorphous silica, wherein said silica is selected from the group of precipitated amorphous silicas having a surface area of at least 400 m.sup.2 /g in pores with a diameter from at least 2 nm. Preferably said precipitated amorphous silicas have a pore volume in the range of about 1.3 to 2.5 ml/g, in pores having a pore diameter in the range of 3.6 to 1000 nm.

  • Patent number: 5079208
Abstract: Alumina silicas for refining glyceride oils having a surface area of at least 150 m.sup.2 /g and a pore volume of 0.6 ml/g in pores having a pore diameter of about 4-20 nm, exhibiting a phosphorous removal capacity of more than 100 ppm P/1% in combination with a sufficient bleaching activity. These silicas should be prepared at temperatures for the acid treatment, hydrogel treatment, and alumina silica formation of 35.degree.-55.degree. C.

  • Patent number: 4857237
Abstract: A process is provided for preparing refined oil comprising removal of nickel by incorporating an effective amount of an aqueous substance in crude oil and forming a dispersion containing water nickel and oil, and thereafter filtering the dispersion containing water, nickel and oil. As aqueous substance, for example liquid water, steam or dilute acid can be used. Small quantities of aqueous substance, usually less than about 4% calculated on the weight of the oil are sufficient. The process can be applied suitably, in particular in relation to hydrogenation of oil. The aqueous substance can suitably be incorporated in the oil before, during or after the hydrogenation reaction but before the filtration of the oil/catalyst slurry, or it can be incorporated after the slurry filtration, in the filtered hydrogenated oil.
