  • Patent number: 10944334
Abstract: A switching power supply (switched-mode power device) includes a rectifier for a mains connection and for rectifying a three-phase AC voltage, a first converter and a second converter, the input voltage of which forms an intermediate circuit voltage, where the first converter regulates the intermediate circuit voltage such that the voltage substantially corresponds to a predefinable output voltage of the second converter multiplied by a load-independent transformation ratio on operation of the second converter with a resonant frequency, where upon forced reduction of the output voltage from the second converter, the first converter can set an, on average, sufficiently low intermediate circuit voltage such that the second converter can be operated substantially with the resonant frequency for a load-independent transformation ratio, where a signal for closed-loop control of the first converter stage can be derived from voltage and/or current information from the second converter.

  • Publication number: 20180159429
Abstract: An auxiliary supply for a switched mode power supply, which includes at least a transformer with a primary side and a secondary side, wherein the auxiliary supply provides a power supply to units arranged on the secondary side of the switched mode power supply independently of an operating state of the switched mode power supply, where the auxiliary supply in this case, on the primary side, which corresponds to the primary side of the switched mode power supply, has a frequency generator for generating an ac voltage with a predetermined frequency, where on the secondary side, which corresponds to the secondary side of the switched mode power supply, the auxiliary supply has a rectifier unit for a secondary side supply current and/or a secondary side supply voltage, and where a galvanic separation unit, which is particularly formed by two capacitors, is provided between the primary side and the secondary side.

  • Patent number: 9698703
Abstract: A switching converter includes a transformer having a primary winding to which an input voltage is supplied and formed of two primary winding halves, a tap between the winding halves, and a pair of switching elements in series connection with the winding halves. A voltage divider formed of two capacitors and across which the input voltage is supplied is connected at a center tap between the two capacitors to the primary winding tap through a damping element or network. Each switching element is connected through a respective driver to a controller that operatively effects synchronous control of the switching elements.

  • Publication number: 20170126141
Abstract: A switched-mode power supply unit includes at least two LLC resonant converters connected in parallel and which each include a test circuit that generates a respective test signal that is proportionate to the transmitted current of the associated LLC resonant converter, wherein each respective test signal is supplied to a load controller that modifies at least one switching frequency of an LLC resonant converter such that the test signals converge so as to allow the current or load to be accurately split when a plurality of LLC resonant converters is connected in parallel.

  • Patent number: 9543848
Abstract: An activation circuit for activating a power bridge circuit of a resonance converter, including an inductive activation transformer that transfers a pulsed control signal generated via a CMOS driver to the power bridge circuit, wherein a clamping circuit is arranged at the output of each CMOS driver, where the clamping circuit clamps a primary winding of the activation transformer to a ground potential during the dead time between two pulses of the pulsed control signal such that overvoltages, which otherwise arise when switching the activation transformer inductance, are thus clamped during a dead time and a circuit breaker switches off securely.
