    Abstract: An optical fiber connector comprises a ferrule having a rear end, a chuck located rearward of the ferrule, a ring having a front end, and a coil spring. The ring is attached to the chuck so as to surround the chuck. The optical fiber connector holds an optical fiber which is inserted from a rear end of the optical fiber connector. In detail, when the optical fiber is inserted into the optical fiber connector, an end of the optical fiber passes through the chuck to be accommodated in the ferrule. The coil spring presses the ring forward (toward the ferrule) so that the chuck is squeezed to hold the inserted optical fiber. When the ring is moved rearward by a stopper inserted between the rear end of the ferrule and the front end of the ring, the chuck is released to release the optical fiber.

    Abstract: An optical module is provided in which at least one of a surface light emitting device and a surface light receiving device is mounted on a positioning component on which optical fibers are positioned and mounted. The positioning component is made of an insulating resin and a plurality of lead frames that provide electrical connection are molded integrally with the positioning component. Each of the lead frames is flat plate and the plate surface of each of the lead frames serves as a first electrical connection surface and an edge face of each of the lead frames serves as a second electrical connection surface. The interconnection structure is simple and linear and is advantageous in high-frequency signal transmission.

    Abstract: Preparation is made of first and second contact assemblies in each of which ends of a plurality of contacts are respectively coupled to a plurality of coupling portions of a carrier. The coupling portions of at least one of the first and second contact assemblies are bent so as to offset the contacts in a thickness direction of the carrier. Then, the first and second contact assemblies are combined together in a state where the carriers overlap each other and the contacts are aligned with and spaced apart from each other in the same plane. After integrating the contacts, the coupling portions are cut off. Then, the integrated contacts are collectively inserted into a shell.

The connection object which has a locked portion is inserted to and connected with the connector from the front of the connector.     Abstract: Connector includes a plug and receptacle. The receptacle includes a cylindrical part and a flange. The plug includes a cylindrical barrel, which houses internal connectors, and a coupling nut. At an end of the barrel, an engaging piece and a pair of locking pieces, which face each other, project in an axial direction of the barrel. Locking hooks are formed at the tips of the locking pieces. The coupling nut is screwed onto the cylindrical part to connect the plug to the receptacle. Before the connection, the engaging piece and the locking pieces are inserted into and engaged with the cylindrical part and positioned. At the same time, the locking pieces are caught in the receptacle to temporarily secure the plug to the receptacle.

The actuator is supported by the housing so as to pivot between an open position where the object is insertable and a close position where the inserted object is held.
