  • Patent number: 11756531
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for audio detection are described. A security and automation system may include a control system that includes a hub device and one or more user interfaces. The control system is configured to receive, at a microphone included in the control system, an audio signal from a zone within the premises. In some examples, the control system may be configured to communicate with nodes of the security and automation system using one or more wireless access technologies and one or more wired access technologies. The control system may determine, at a first processor of the control system, that a set of characteristics of the audio signal satisfies a threshold. The control system may transmit a notification of an event in the zone of the premises based on determining that the set of characteristics of the audio signal satisfies the threshold.

  • Publication number: 20230190246
Abstract: The embodiments described herein can be used in a variety of sample retrieval, grasping, cutting, and manipulating operations. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes an elongated member and a retention member movably coupled to the elongated member. The elongated member includes a cutting portion configured to cut a target sample when moved, and defines an internal volume within which at least a portion of the target sample can be received. The retention member includes an engagement portion configured to move between a first position and a second position when the retention member is actuated. The engagement portion is configured to extend within the internal volume to exert a force on the target sample within the internal volume when the engagement portion is in the second position.
