Abstract: The novel innovations disclosed include a system that includes a display cover having an outside surface and an inside surface, a keyboard disposed on the inside surface, and a magnetic region extending through at least a portion of the keyboard. The system may include a retrofit magnetic adapter that includes a magnetic fastener configured to detachably couple to the magnetic region. The retrofit magnetic adapter is attachable to a display of a portable electronic device such that the magnetic fastener of the retrofit magnetic adapter is positioned along a portion of a first edge of the display.
