Water and a packet of coffee grounds are introduced to a brew chamber to produce a coffee extract after a specified time and then delivered to a removable receiving container. The packet is compressed to release the maximum amount of extract from the packet. Extract can be diluted with additional water into the removable receiving container to create the beverage. The receiving container is filled and sealed for freshness.
