  • Patent number: 7869414
Abstract: The area of the invention belongs to the transport technologies in UTRAN. This invention concerns a method for multiplexing a data stream onto a transport bearer between an originating network node and a receiving network node in a telecommunications network. This is done in order to ensure the effective usage of transport resources over the two interfaces, i.e. Iub/Iur. To accomplish this the RNC and/or Node B/RNC should check if the there already exists a transport bearer, which can be utilized for HS-DSCH transport over Iub/Iur interface. Because of this a transport bearer identification code or transport bearer id is needed to identify this bearer between RNC and Node B/RNC.

  • Patent number: 7860462
Abstract: The power level of multicast data transmissions in a wireless communications network are controlled. Power level information is provided in a transmitted channel received by a user equipment. The user equipment measures the power level of a received signal. It compares the measured power level to the power level indicated by the power level information provided in the transmitted channel. Power level measurement information is included in a message sent by the user equipment depending on the results obtained when the power level measured by the user equipment is compared to the power level indicated by the power level information provided in the transmitted channel.

  • Patent number: 7664265
Abstract: The present invention relates to relocation of the control of communication between a first station and a second station from a first communication system controller to a second communication system controller. The communication is ciphered by means of a first ciphering key. In the method, after the initiation of the relocation of control of the communication from the first controller to the second controller a request for relocation is transmitted to the second controller. The request contains the first ciphering key and at least one other ciphering key.

  • Patent number: 7336616
Abstract: The present invention proposes a method for configuring a data transmission interface in a communication network adopting a transmission protocol for transmission of data in units of grouped data, wherein said transmission interface is the interface (Iub) between an access network control node (RNC1) and an access node (BS1-BS6) adapted to establish a communication to a terminal, and wherein said communication network has a topology such that an access node (BS2, BS3, BS5, BS6) is connected to said access network control node (RNC1) by an intermediate of at least one further access node (BS1,BS1-BS2, BS4, BS4), said method comprising the steps of: deriving a delay information of the delay experienced by data transmission between a respective network access node (BS1-BS6) and said access network control node (RNC), calculating a delay difference between two consecutive access nodes (BS1-BS2, BS2-BS3, BS4-BS5, BS4-BS6) based on said delay information, and modifying the delay experienced by data transmission for

  • Patent number: 7180883
Abstract: In packet data transmission method, a packet data connection is indicated with a connection identifier and the destination of the packet data connection is indicated with a destination identifier. A destination identifier is involved in the initialization of a transmission queue, at least one connection identifier is related to each transmission queue, and a set of proper connection identifiers is the union of the connection identifiers related to the initialized transmission queues. A data packet having a proper connection identifier is placed (504, 505) to the corresponding transmission queue. The method is characterized in that the initialization of a new transmission queue is triggered (506, 508) by a data packet not having a proper connection identifier and having a destination identifier and after a successful initialization of a new transmission queue the data packet that triggered the initialization is placed (509) to the new transmission queue.

  • Publication number: 20050174965
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for allocating resources of a network portion through which service-related data flows are routed in a transparent manner, wherein the resource allocation is performed based on a service behavior classification information indicating the behavior of the service-related data flow during its lifetime and being forwarded to said network portion. Thereby, capacity and performance requirements during transparent transmission can be estimated more reliable.

Abstract: The present invention is related to a method and system for multicast service announcement in a cell that includes a core network, a UTRAN, and one or more mobile network nodes. The UTRAN includes a RNC. The RNC continuously sends multicast service announcements in a frame over a channel such as a PICH. The frame may include a type field and an indication field where the type field contains information related to the type of information in the indication field, or the frame may include a current service announcement identification field, a next service announcement identification field, and a time offset field. The type field can be used also to separate long term scheduling announcement or service advertising frames from the multicast/broadcast data frames, or the type field can be used to separate the multicast/broadcast control frames from the multicast/broadcast data frames.

  • Publication number: 20040264490
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and system for performing a multicast transmission in a cellular network, wherein an identification information, which indicates terminal devices and/or areas in which authorized terminal devices are assumed to be located, is transmitted from a core network (100) to a radio access network of the cellular network by using a control information transmission protocol. Then, a signalling connection of a control and user data transmission protocol is establishing based on said identification information and used for transmitting multicast related data and corresponding control information between the core network (100) and the radio access network. Thereby, already defined protocol layers can be used for implementing multicast transmission, while modifications are minimized.
