  • Patent number: 7426211
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for implementing data transmission between at least two devices. At least a section of a connection between at least two different devices is implemented by a wireless connection and at least some of the communication between the devices takes place as method call messages and reply messages to method calls. At least some of the messages to be transmitted include an address of the application that transmitted a message. A device behind the wireless connection includes means for transmitting a message containing the address such that the address of the application is provided with a predetermined symbol pattern. The arrangement includes an adapter to adapt the protocol used over the wireless section of the connection to the rest of the network and to replace the symbol pattern with the address of the device that transmitted the message.

  • Patent number: 7376108
Abstract: The invention relates to an arrangement for implementing data transmission between at least two sets of software used in one or more devices. The devices are capable of establishing a connection to a data transmission system. The communication between the devices takes place using service requests that include information on an address of a service provider. A name server of the arrangement maintains a list of sets of software providing and needing different services and their addresses. The name servers are arranged to search the data transmission system for other name servers and to exchange information concerning the sets of software needing a service and providing a service when they find a new name server.

  • Patent number: 7096267
Abstract: The invention relates to a data transmission arrangement between at least two apparatuses in a system in which part of the connection between different apparatuses is a wireless connection. The apparatuses communicate with method calls containing a service request. Service brokers direct the service request to a given server, which replies to the method call according to the required service by sending the information required for the service to the service broker which sends the information to the sender of the method call. The arrangement further comprises an adapter which is connected to wireless apparatuses and which adapts the protocol used in the wireless connection to the rest of the network. The adapter finds the server providing the requested service on behalf of the apparatus which sent the method call and operates in a wireless network.

  • Patent number: 6842771
Abstract: The invention relates to implementing data transmission between at least two sets of software used in one or more devices which comprise means for establishing a connection to a telecommunications system. The communication is partly carried out with method calls including a service request. A service broker supplies the service request included in the method call to indicated server, which responds to the method call by sending required information back to the sender of the method call via the service broker. At least some of the programs participating in data transmission are implemented with a script-based programming language in the devices. The arrangement comprises an application which transmits service requests and responses to the requests between the service broker and the software that needs data transmission, and renders data transmission requests and responses to the requests compatible between script-based software and another system.
