  • Patent number: 7831235
Abstract: A system and method for implementing situation-related actions in a mobile electronic device such as a mobile telephone. The mobile electronic device is programmed with a definition of at least one triggering event, as well as a definition of at least one response activity that is to occur if the at least one triggering event is detected. The present invention involves the monitoring of the mobile electronic device for the occurrence of the at least one triggering event. Upon detecting that the at least one triggering event has occurred, the at least one response activity is initiated.

  • Patent number: 7599374
Abstract: A system for establishing an Internet Protocol (IP) connection with a terminating node includes an originating node capable of initiating communication with the terminating node. The system also includes an intermediate node located between the originating node and the terminating node. The originating node is capable of initiating communication by either (a) requesting communication with the terminating node via the intermediate node, or (b) notifying the terminating node of incoming data independent of the intermediate node. In this regard, when the originating node initiates communication in accordance with (a), either the originating node or the intermediate node is capable of notifying the terminating node of incoming data. Upon being notified of incoming data, then, the terminating node is capable of registering with the intermediate node to thereby establish an IP connection between the originating node and the terminating node via the intermediate node.

  • Patent number: 7373109
Abstract: A system and method for registering or otherwise associating items with generated content. Identification of who and/or what is present in connection with the generation of content is determined. In one embodiment, images, video, audio, or other media/multimedia content is generated, and the items and/or people present and relevant to the creation of that content are determined. A record of those relevant items and/or people may then be associated with that created content, so that the content includes a record of who/what was there when the content was created.

  • Publication number: 20070286100
Abstract: Local discovery of mobile network services involves coupling a communications device to a local network segment of a mobile data network. An announcement is sent from the communication device and/or a network entity (such as a network proxy) describing a service available via the respective devices. The announcement is receivable by any device on the local network segment. A request is received at the device for a detailed description of the service information in response to the announcement.

  • Publication number: 20070271453
Abstract: Authentication information of a first node is received which are used for verification of remote nodes' authentication attempts, and a token is received from at least one remote node. Authentication of the at least one remote node is performed based on the token, and, if the authentication is successful, rules of a firewall are set through which all communication towards a first node goes to accept packets from an address of the remote node to the address of the first node.

  • Patent number: 7194235
Abstract: A system, method and apparatus that enables end user (402) of mobile terminal (430) to establish primary content channel (426) having primary content feedback provided via path (434). In response, User Interface (UI) logic block (404) detects the primary content channel selection and queries media channel controller (406) for secondary content channel selections that may be instantiated in response to the primary content channel selection. Secondary media channel (428) is automatically established upon an affirmative match made between parameters contained within database (408) and characteristics associated with the primary media channel selection.

  • Publication number: 20050216560
Abstract: A commercial activity can be marketed using distributed computing. Processor-executable code is sent to a plurality of users. The users are requested to run the processor-executable code on network-coupled computing arrangements accessible by the users. A distributed computing task is performed on each of the computing arrangements by running the processor-executable code on the computing arrangements. The distributed computing tasks work in concert to solve a computational problem. As a result of the distributed computing task, a user-perceivable experience is provided via the computing arrangements. The user-perceivable experience is configured for purposes of marketing the commercial activity.

  • Publication number: 20050004968
Abstract: Mobile Information Server (MIS) (704) provides mobile information services to network (702). Local data stored in server directory (708) generated from MIS (704), such as image data from imagery device (722) or telemetry data from telemetry device (712), is network accessible through request handler (706). Additionally, MIS (704) provides access to external devices (714-720) via Common Gateway Interface (CGI) 710. Thus, MIS (704) acts as a mobile information server to network (702) for local, or proximately located information sources, even when the user of MIS (704) is not available.
