  • Publication number: 20220219945
Abstract: The self-climbing elevator machine room comprises two decks positioned upon each other. Each deck comprises guide means supporting the deck movably on guide rails and locking means locking and unlocking the deck to the guide rails and/or to guide rail fixing means. Lifting means move the two decks along the guide rails in relation to each other. At least one power source provides power to the lifting means. The elevator machine room climbs stepwise along the guide rails by alternatingly locking and unlocking the lower deck and the upper deck to the guide rails and/or to the guide rail fixing means and thereafter raising the unlocked deck.

  • Publication number: 20220194744
Abstract: The arrangement comprises a self-climbing installation platform comprising two consecutive decks, a machine room deck suspended from the installation platform and an elevator car suspended from the machine room deck. Each deck, the machine room deck and the car are supported movably with guide means on guide rails and locked and unlocked with locking means to the guide rails and/or to guide rail fixing means. Lifting means powered by a power source move the two decks in relation to each other. The installation platform climbs stepwise along the guide rails by alternatingly locking and unlocking the lower deck and the upper deck to the guide rails and/or to the guide rail fixing means and thereafter raising the unlocked deck.

  • Publication number: 20210245997
Abstract: The invention relates to a movable machine room comprising a support platform of a hoisting machine, the support platform comprising one or more releasable mounting mechanisms for releasably mounting the moveable machine room in a hoistway, and a hoisting machine mounted on the support platform; a working platform on top of the support platform, preferably forming a roof of the moveable machine room and/or comprising handrails; and at least one support structure supported by which the working platform rests on the support platform; and wherein each said support structure is selectively actuatable to expand in vertical direction for hoisting the working platform higher above the support platform taking reaction force from the support platform, or to contract in vertical direction for lowering the working platform back towards the support platform. The invention relates to an arrangement and a method implementing the movable machine room.

  • Patent number: 9840398
Abstract: Diverting pulley arrangement, more particularly a diverting pulley arrangement of an elevator, which arrangement includes an axle, at least one diverting pulley that rotates while supported on the axle, a faceplate structure, in relation to which and supported by which the diverting pulley is arranged to rotate on the first side of the faceplate structure, which axle is locked so that it does not rotate by the aid of a locking element that moves in relation to the faceplate structure, which locking element is on the second side of the faceplate structure. When it starts to rotate, the end of the axle forces the locking element to displace out of its position and to trip a safety switch.

  • Patent number: 7527127
Abstract: In the invention a method is presented for ensuring operating safety in an elevator system, an elevator system, and a safety device of an elevator system. The elevator system includes at least an elevator car, elevator ropes, an elevator motor, a traction sheave and at least two holding brakes, which holding brakes are arranged to prevent movement of the elevator car when the elevator is stopped. According to the invention the first holding brake is engaged at the end of an elevator run, and the other holding brakes are engaged with a delay. When one holding brake is engaged, the state of motion of the elevator and any slipping of the brake is monitored. If the brake is detected as slipping, a procedure for preventing a hazardous situation is performed.
