  • Patent number: 8160540
Abstract: An emergency telephone call is supported and routed to a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) in an IP based packet switched wireless communications network. An activate PDP context request is sent from a user equipment to the network. A parameter in said activate PDP context request indicates that the PDP context will be used to transfer an emergency call. An activate PDP context accept message is returned from said support node to said user equipment. Said activate PDP context accept message acknowledges said activate PDP context request message and provides the address of a call state control function. A call setup request transferred to the call state control function includes the Service Area Identity (SAI). The call state control function selects a PSAP based, at least in part, on the SAI included in the call setup request and forwards the emergency call to the selected PSAP.

  • Patent number: 8009816
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a system implementing the method for arranging subscriber billing in a multi-provider environment wherein a subscriber desiring a service uses both a first network (A) and a second network (T). In order to bill the subscriber, either a tariff of the second network (T) is transmitted to the first network (A), a tariff of the first network is combined with the tariff of the second network and the subscriber is billed according to the combined tariff, or a billing identifier is generated in the first network (A) to be transmitted to the second network (T), the billing identifier is attached to billing information in both networks and the pieces of the billing information that comprise the same billing identifier are combined in order to bill the subscriber. The invention thus enables a subscriber in a multi-provider environment to be billed using a single bill.

  • Patent number: 7340507
Abstract: A communication network comprising at least an application server means (APSE), a subscriber information register means (HSS), a call state control functional entity (CSCF), and a service portal (SP), wherein the application server means (APSE) is connected to the service portal (SP) and to the call state control functional entity (CSCF), the service portal is further connected to the home subscriber server means (HSS), and the subscriber information register means (HSS) is further connected to the call state control functional entity (CSCF). In connection with the proposed network architecture, methods for handling service scripts within the network with regard to creation and storage of service scripts, provisioning the service scripts for a user, distribution of the scripts in the network and execution of the scripts during call processing are also described.

  • Publication number: 20060136569
Abstract: A new function is added into switching centres (CPS) to facilitate the adding of various services, the function transmitting the service data structure of a non-standard service to a system entity responsible for the service. The system entity is identified on the basis of an indicator associated with the service data structure.

  • Patent number: 7051082
Abstract: A communications system and method for providing services to a subscriber of the system is provided. The system includes a system element controlling call processing, service data for a subscriber of the system, and an element for storing subscriber data. The system is configured to associate an indicator with a service data structure of the service data of a subscriber. The element for storing subscriber data is configured to store the service data structure of the service data of the subscriber associated with the indicator. The system is configured to transmit from the element for storing subscriber data service data of a subscriber comprising the service data structure associated with the indicator to the system element controlling call processing service.

  • Publication number: 20050193134
Abstract: An object of the invention is a method for logging out a user of an application-layer service, the service being implemented with the aid of a user's wireless terminal, the terminal implementing a protocol stack comprising an application layer, and which application layer comprises a set of service applications for implementing application-layer services, and an application-layer control and signalling protocol, such as SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), for logging the user on application-layer services in a network and for logging the user out of application-layer services. According to the method, when switching off the wireless terminal, the user is logged using the application-layer control and signalling protocol out of at least one application-layer service of which the user has not logged out, or a conditional request for logging out the user is sent to the network.
