  • Publication number: 20200120489
Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to a network node for handling a Radio Access Network, (RAN) context information of a wireless device in a cell served by the network node in a wireless communications network. The network node stores the RAN context information of the wireless device when the wireless device is no longer in a connected state in the cell. When the wireless device has returned to a connected state in the cell, the network node receives information indicating a RAN context information from the wireless device. Also, the network node transmits, to the wireless device, information indicating that the wireless device is to use the indicated RAN context information in the cell when the indicated RAN context information is such that it can be reused with the RAN context information of the wireless device previously stored by the network node. Embodiments of the network node are also described.

  • Patent number: 10506476
Abstract: A method for establishing an interaction session on the second communication bearer between an Interaction Gateway (IGW) of a RAN and the service client for controlling the service level communication. The method obtains an initialization message addressed to the RAN by means of default IGW address information on the first bearer, for initiating the interaction session, determines dedicated IGW address information for the interaction session, and initiates sending of a confirmation message comprising the determined dedicated IGW address information to the service client. The method ensures that the interaction session is associated with the second communication bearer used for the service level communication, and obtains an interaction session message addressed to the RAN by means of the determined dedicated IGW address information on the second communication bearer, and further initiates sending a response to the interaction session message, to the service client in the radio device on the second bearer.

  • Patent number: 10506552
Abstract: A method performed by a core network node for handling communication for a wireless device in a communication network, wherein the communication network comprises partitioned sets of functionalities. A first set of functionalities belongs to a first network slice supporting the wireless device, and a second set of functionalities belongs to a second network slice supporting the wireless device, and which first and second sets of functionalities are separated from one another and other sets of functionalities. The core network node obtains a common identity for defining paging occasion for the wireless device for paging from the first network slice and the second network slice. The core network node receives a paging request for the wireless device from the first network slice when the wireless device is in idle mode, and the core network node initiates a paging procedure of the wireless device by using the obtained common identity.

  • Patent number: 10498502
Abstract: This disclosure relates a method and a base station for network sharing using carrier aggregation. The base station of a multi-carrier system comprises a multiple of cells, where each cell corresponds to a carrier that is associated with a PLMN. The base station receives (302, S-424, S-516, S-616) a UE request with information of a UE (402, 502, 602), where a first cell of said multiple of cells corresponds to a first carrier. The base station determines (304, S-428, S-520, S-626) based on base station settings and/or UE information, whether an other carrier associated with a different PLMN is available to said UE. If so, the base station sends (306, S-430, S-440, S-524, S-530) a resource configuration message destined for said UE (402, 502, 602), enabling said UE to configure said other carrier as a SCC. Better coverage, peak rates and capacity, without suffering from the drawbacks of existing RAN sharing techniques, are provided.
