  • Patent number: 7649548
Abstract: A method transfers image information from a camera module (1) to an electronic device, such as a mobile station (23). In the camera module (1), an image is formed by an image sensor (2) having pixels, where the light to which the pixel (P1,1-Pm,n) is exposed is converted into an analog signal which is converted into digital image information. The image information is transferred in serial form, and the transfer of the image information is controlled by the electronic device (23).

  • Patent number: 7158489
Abstract: In TDMA systems it is possible to transmit data on more than one consecutive slot per frame. This introduces increased workloads on the power amplifier of the transmitter of the mobile station. To prevent the power amplifier from overheating, temperature sensing means are incorporated into the mobile station which output to a control system comprising a comparator and feedback means which together regulate the operation of the transmitter if the power amplifier approaches or exceeds it upper rated operating value. Thereby preventing the power amplifier from damage.

  • Patent number: 6967943
Abstract: A method of operating a time division multiple access (TDMA) radio system having multi-slot capabilities and utilizing half-duplex transmission/reception where uplink and downlink user data transmissions between a mobile station (MS) 2 and a base station (BS) 3 are made in separate TDMA frames. A greater number of time slots are allocated to the mobile station 2 in each downlink TDMA frame than in each uplink TDMA frame to improve the efficiency of radio resource allocation and of the radio module 4 of the mobile station 2.

  • Patent number: 6819937
Abstract: A method and apparatus for updating transmission power class information of a Mobile Station (MS) in a General Packet Radio Services (GPRS) network. The invention updates transmission power class information of the MS in the GPRS network by initiating a Routing Area Update (RAU) procedure in the MS. The RAU procedure includes sending from the MS to a Serving GPRS Support Node (SGSN) of the GPRS network a RAU request message including a MS Radio Access Capability (RAC) Information Element (IE) which includes an IE indicating a new transmission power class of the MS, accepting in the SGSN the IE indicating a new transmission power class of the MS included in the MS RAC of the RAU request message, and delivering to a Base Station (BSS) the IE indicating a new transmission power class of the MS, thereby updating the transmission power class information of the MS at the BSS.

  • Patent number: 6810035
Abstract: A wireless terminal arrangement acts as a communicating party in a multimedia connection consisting of real time service components and non-real time service components. The real time service components are to be utilized by local real time applications (206, 207) and the non-real time service components are to be utilized by local non-real time applications (205). A radio transceiver (204) is capable of both circuit-switched and packet-switched operation. A real time channel block (202) is used for conveying the real time service components between the local real time applications (206, 207) and the radio transceiver, and a non-real time channel block (203), connected in parallel with said real time channel block, is used for conveying the non-real time service components between the local non-real time applications (205) and the radio transceiver.

  • Patent number: 6612498
Abstract: A mobile station (MS) that includes an interface card slot (SLOT) to which it is possible to connect either an MMC-card or a small SIM-card. To connect the small interface card a separate adapter the size of an MMC-card is used, or, in addition to the first contact pins for use of an MMC-card, second contact pins for use of a SIM-card are arranged to the interface card slot. The operating voltage of the interface card is selected to fit the currently used interface card. In some embodiments of the present invention at least partially shared contact pins, which have been multiplexed, are being used to connect MMC- and SIM-cards.

  • Patent number: 6484041
Abstract: In a method for adjusting the power consumption of a communication device (1), at least a first operating voltage (VCC1, VCC2) is generated for the communication device (1), and the communication device (1) contains at least one processor (MPU, DSP) which is used to execute program commands of one or more applications. The execution rate of at least one processor (MPU, DSP) in the communication device is set with a clock signal (CLK) which is generated by a device (17) for generating a clock signal (CLK). The operating voltage for the device (17) for generating a clock signal (CLK) is provided by a second operating voltage (VCC2). A performance requirement is specified for the applications, wherein at least the first operating voltage (VCC1) of the communication device (1) is adjusted on the basis of the performance requirement of one or more applications which are being executed at a given time.
