  • Patent number: 4874409
Abstract: The equipment solves the problems of appropriate and simple construction and suitable especially for continuous separation of solid sublimable compounds from the gaseous mixture. The equipment consists of a desublimer 1 and separator 4 in which is situated a conical vessel 5 and the well 7. The principle of the invention is that between the outlet neck 6 of the conical vessel 5 and the well 7 is situated a filter 9 of a conical shape with the angles of wall inclination between 10.degree. and 45.degree., whose upper end is connected with the outlet neck 6.

  • Patent number: 4696683
Abstract: The invention solves a method and an apparatus for the separation of solids from gaseous mixtures especially the separation of phthalic anhydride after its desublimation from mixtures with vapours of sublimable substances, steam, air or inert gases, which originate at sublimation refining or at catalytic production of phthalic anhydride by air oxidation of naphthalene or o-xylene.The flakes of phthalic anhydride, which originated after the decrease of temperature in the desublimator space were agglomerated and compacted due to the increase of velocity of gaseous mixture in contracted cross-section of the separator. The formed agglomerates are separated from the gaseous mixture and collected in a receiver well. From the well the agglomerates are transported by a conveyor or they are continuously melted. The melt formed outlets through a siphon. The rest 1 to 5% of phthalic anhydride is separated from gaseous mixture in a filter from wire net and by gradual melting is introduced into the receiver well.

  • Patent number: 4528006
Abstract: A continuous, desublimination apparatus capable of operating at high flow rates. The apparatus works on the principle of reducing temperature of a vapor-gas mixture below the desublimination point. It has a heated jacket with inlets and outlets of gases in which a gas permeable wall is coaxially spaced. Said wall encloses a desublimination space with nozzles for atomizing an evaporable liquid and with a distributor of a vapor-gas mixture at the inlet. The space between said gas permeable wall and the inner jacket wall is divided into at least three vertically aligned sections, the volumes of which increase in the direction away from said inlet of the vapor-gas mixture. In operation, a vapor-gas mixture is cooled below the desublimination point by an atomized liquid. Simultaneous blowing of a secondary gas through said gas permeable wall protects the wall of said desublimination space from solid deposits.

  • Patent number: 4080182
Abstract: Apparatus for condensing vapors of subliming substances. The apparatus comprises a vessel having gas permeable porous walls spaced within a heated jacket, an inlet for supplying the gas mixture to be condensed into the interior of said vessel, an outlet for passing the non-condensed portion of said gas mixture together with solid condensate from said vessel, inlets into the space between the inner jacket wall and said vessel, means for supplying said space with a gas permeating through said gas permeable porous walls into said vessel, nozzles for injection of a liquid spray into the interior of said vessel, a filtering system, outlets for withdrawing non-condensed portion of said gas mixture, a receptacle for accumulating the solid condensate, and means for removing the solid condensate.
