  • Patent number: 4968421
Abstract: Column for liquid chromatography contains a glass tube for sorbent packing closed with simple column seals and inserted into a jacket made of metal or plastic material. The jacket transfers axial forces exerted on the column seals by liquid pressure action by means of sockets. It secures the tightness of the column, enables the connection of the column to a chromatographic system, and has a protective function at the same time. The columns can be coupled in series by means of doubled sockets.

  • Patent number: 4752391
Abstract: A column for preparative liquid chomatography is provided with an inlet tube (5) for injected sample, which is closed on the end with a gauze or fritted plate (6), passes through the center of a lower terminal (3), and ends in the distance equal to 70 to 90% of the total length of the column from the lower end of this tube, whereas the lower terminal (3) has at least four openings (7) or a circular slot or two half-slots which are placed outside the center of terminal on a concentric circle with diameter ranging between 40 to 70% of the inner diameter of column tube (1). The column operates in such a way, that mobile phase is introduced into the column through the center of the upper terminal (2) and a sample is injected into a sorbent through the inlet tube (5) for sample after stopping the flow of mobile phase and then the flow of mobile phase is restored.

  • Patent number: 4692243
Abstract: The invented column for liquid chromatography consists of a glass tube, which is inserted into a metallic tube. The metallic tube is provided with recesses in its inner wall at both ends, which accommodate conic tightening rings from metal together with conic circumferential packings from plastics, advantageously from poly(tetrafluoroethylene). The column further consists of front packings from plastics, advantageously from poly(tetrafluoroethylene, which have porous disks or filter gauzes pressed into their recesses. Both types of packing are tightened with metallic terminal elements screwed on the metallic tube, which are provided with expansion slots at sides adjacent to the front packings. The metallic tube may have openings for a visual inspection of column packing.

  • Patent number: 4196909
Abstract: The invention pertains to the sealing of pistons for pressurizing, pumping and displacing aggressive liquids and organic solvents. The design includes the sealing head proper and its attachment to the piston. Owing to its shape and material it is made of, the sealing head ensures a variable sealing thrust proportional to the pressure acting on the piston, thus enhancing the useful life of the seal.
