Publication number: 20230197873Abstract: A new type of PV cell is comprised of a purposefully unique spatial configuration of multiple pairs of transparent thin PV films stacked top down in order of decreasing bandgaps corresponding to increasing wavelengths. Each thin-film pair is made of a material of desirable bandgap, and consecutive films separated from each other in space by a layer of air to force confinement of light waves of wavelength matching bandgap, enabling an infinite number of reflections until the wave energy corresponding to each desired wavelength is absorbed. The PV thin-films are coated to ensure that light of each wavelength is confined as intended. They are passivated to minimize surface recombination. This spatial arrangement provides multiple opportunities for photovoltaic conversion of each intended wavelength hence increasing overall conversion efficiency.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 25, 2022Publication date: June 22, 2023Inventor: Jasmin Jijina Sinkular

Patent number: 11634039Abstract: A system and method for integrated charging a vehicle includes a hybrid excitation machine, operable as a traction motor and including a rotor separated by an air gap from a stator with AC windings. An AC utility line power supply is connected to the AC windings providing an electrical current to the vehicle and inducing a magnetic flux across the air gap and in the rotor. A short circuit, an open circuit, or a DC voltage may be applied to a DC winding in the stator to reduce the magnetic flux into the rotor. A field coil in the rotor may be excited with a DC voltage using a secondary coil on the rotor in a traction mode. The secondary coil is excited by the stator windings using field-oriented control in a “self-excited machine” embodiment, and is directly excited by a separate primary coil in an “externally-excited machine” embodiment.Type: GrantFiled: June 1, 2018Date of Patent: April 25, 2023Assignee: MAGNA INTERNATIONAL INC.Inventors: K. Patent number: 8374331Abstract: A device for implementing a method of remotely routing a voice call forward to a telematic device is disclosed. The device first maintains a call state of the voice call in response to an answering of call forwarding rings by the telematic device. The device then forwards the calls to the next assigned device in response to a failure of a user of the telematic device to answer fake rings from the telematic device. Such a failure can be indicated by a monitoring of a prescribed number of back ring tones or a dropping of call within a prescribed timer window.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2005Date of Patent: February 12, 2013Assignee: General Motor LLCInventors: Jasmin Jijina, John J. Patent number: 6708110Abstract: The present invention provides a system, a method and a computer usable medium including a program for generating navigation instructions for a vehicle. This may be done by determining a bearing between a destination point and a current location point of the vehicle, determining a proximity perimeter with radius (R) of a destination point and selecting a termination point within the proximity perimeter that is closest to the destination point as the vehicle path end point. It may also be done by determining a current location of a client vehicle on a route, determining a destination point longitude and latitude in a digital map database and by determining if a destination point is located in a digital map database.Type: GrantFiled: November 1, 2001Date of Patent: March 16, 2004Assignee: General Motors CorporationInventors: Jeffrey M.
