Abstract: A system and method of conducting an authentication transaction; and a near field communication (NFC) enabled mobile device for conducting the authentication transaction. The method includes the steps of: storing data associated with one or more authentication certificates in a secure element of the NFC enabled mobile device; sending the data associated with the one or more authentication certificates from the NFC enabled mobile device to a server via a NFC enabled transceiver; verifying the authenticity of the one or more authentication certificates at the server; and upon successful authentication, sending transaction data from the server to the NFC enabled mobile device via the NFC enabled transceiver.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to cashless payment systems and, in particular, to an electronic payment system suitable for peer-to-peer payments. A transaction system comprising: a network connected device for receiving and communicating transaction data, the transaction data comprising data associated with payer account details, payee account details and a transaction value; and a payment server for receiving the transaction data from the network connected device, for facilitating a debit transaction to a first entity defined by the payer account details, and a credit transaction to a second entity defined by the payee account details, whereby the first entity debits a first account defined by the payer account details and the second entity credits a second account defined by the payee account details.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of transferring information in an electronic transaction between a first entity and a second entity. The method comprises: sending, by a first system 101 of the first entity, information relating to the transaction to an administrating system 102, wherein the information is transferred as a pre-payment operation; transferring by the administrating system 102, in dependence on a determination that the transaction is authorised, the received information from the first system 101 to a second system 103, wherein the second system 103 is a system of the second entity and the information is transferred as a pre-payment operation; wherein, the first system 101 is located in a first country and the second system 103 located in a second country such that the transaction is a cross-border transaction.
