  • Patent number: 9377310
Abstract: A mapping and positioning apparatus may include an IMU module for monitoring movement through an environment, a scanner module, and a control unit. The IMU module is configured to monitor movement on the basis of detecting steps taken by a transporter. The scanner module may be configured to employ laser scanning to determine distances to objects or boundaries in the environment as the transporter moves the apparatus through the environment. The control unit may be configured to receive data from at least the IMU module and the scanner module and make an environmental determination to classify the environment. The control unit may be configured to generate map data based on the data received from the IMU module and the scanner module. The control unit may be configured to adaptively adjust processing of the data received from the IMU module and the scanner module based on a classification of the environment.

  • Publication number: 20050077066
Abstract: A cable having a plurality of individually shielded twisted pairs, ISTPs. Each shield has multiple layers. Each shield has a first surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. Each shield has a first longitudinally extending side and a second longitudinally extending side. Each shield is oriented around its respective twisted pair with a lateral fold or “cigarette wrap” fold. With respect to each shield, a portion of each shield's first longitudinally extending side is bonded to a portion of its second longitudinally extending side. An overall shield, often a braided construction, may surround the plurality of ISTPs. A cable jacket surrounds the overall shield and the plurality of individually shielded twisted pairs.

  • Patent number: 6787697
Abstract: A cable channel filler or spline and a cable containing the cable channel filler or spline in its core. The channel filler extends longitudinally and has a plurality of spaced longitudinally extending open pockets in which cables, such as unshielded twisted pair cables, are placed and form part of the core. The core containing the twisted pair cables in the pockets is jacketed. The longitudinal pockets have a cross-sectional area that is greater than the envelope diameter of the twisted pair cable to be placed in the pocket. The channel filler has an imbedded shield that extends into each of the channel filler pocket legs and is preferably prepared from a single tape. Alternatively when two tapes are used for the shield, the first tape has three shield legs and with one leg being a folded over leg and the second tape forms the fourth leg and has 20 to 50 percent—at least {fraction (1/16)} in. of one of its sides encased by the folded over portion of the first tape.

  • Publication number: 20040124000
Abstract: A cable channel filler or spline (126) and a cable (40) containing the cable channel filler or spline in its core. The channel filler extends longitudinally and has a plurality of spaced longitudinally extending open pockets (128, 130, 132, 134) in which wires (42) or cables, such as unshielded twisted pair cables, are placed and form part of the core. The core containing the twisted pair cables in the pockets is jacketed. The channel filler has an imbedded shield (136) that extends into each of the channel filler pocket legs and is preferably prepared from a single tape. Alternatively when two tapes are used for the shield, the first tape has three shield legs and with one leg being a folded over leg and the second tape forms the fourth leg and has 20 to 50 percent or at least {fraction (1/16)} inches of one of its sides encased by the folded over leg of the first tape.

  • Patent number: 6265667
Abstract: The present invention relates to a metallic shielded cable having a wire braid shield coated with a non-gel and non-powder anti-corrosion coating and also to a coaxial cable having a central solid copper or copper clad conductor having a copper surface coated with an anti-corrosion benzotriazole composition. Also, the present invention relates to the method of producing a coaxial cable by coating a copper or copper clad conductor with an anti-corrosion benzotriazole composition prior to extruding a dielectric insulation on the conductor and to a method of preparing a coaxial cable wherein the coaxial cable has an aluminum wire braid and coating the wire braid with an anti-corrosion composition of a metal ionomers of ethylene and acrylic acid copolymers with the metal selected from the group consisting of Zn, Ca, Na and Mg, prior to extruding an insulation jacket around the aluminum wire braid.
