  • Patent number: 6870208
Abstract: An image sensor module includes a substrate, a frame layer, a photosensitive chip, a transparent layer and a lens barrel. The substrate has a plurality of lead frame arranged in a matrix to form an upper surface, which is formed with a opening, and a lower surface, which is formed with a cavity penetrated from the opening. The frame layer is integrally formed with the substrate, and arranged at the periphery of the upper surface of the substrate to define a chamber together with the substrate, an internal thread being formed on the inner wall of the chamber. The photosensitive chip is mounted within the cavity of the substrate, and electrically coupled each of the lead frames in a flip chip manner. The transparent layer is covered onto the upper surface of the substrate to cover the opening.

  • Patent number: 6869695
Abstract: The present invention relates to efficient organic light emitting devices (OLEDs). More specifically, the present invention relates to white-emitting OLEDs, or WOLEDs. The devices of the present invention employ two emitters in a single emissive region to sufficiently cover the visible spectrum. White emission is achieved from two emitters in a single emissive region through the formation of an aggregate by one of the emissive centers. This allows the construction of simple, bright and efficient WOLEDs that exhibit a high color rendering index.

  • Publication number: 20050056362
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for forming elongated composite structural members with a desired cross-sectional geometry as taken transverse to the length of the member. An apparatus may include a base with a substantially elongated mandrel mounted thereon. One or more rollers configured to at least partially complementarily engage the mandrel are configured to roll over and press one or more plies of composite material onto the mandrel. The mandrel may be disposed on a rotary table and configured to exhibit a curved elongated geometry to form at least partially curved or arcuate elongated members. The present invention enables the formation of elongated structural members from resin impregnated materials while maintaining the materials in a substantially uncured state. The formed members may then be cocured with a skin or other composite structure.

  • Publication number: 20050056787
Abstract: A library of material samples is provided in a condition suitable for imaging using infrared (IR) spectroscopy. The samples are provided to one or more detection cells, each of the cells including or containing a reflective surface. Preferably, for imaging, an energy source (e.g. a source of infrared radiation) provides energy to the detection cells to interact with the samples. Thereafter, images (e.g., spectra) related to the samples are created based upon the interaction.

  • Publication number: 20050060075
Abstract: A fail-safe torque transducer, and automotive power steering system, utilizing a two-stage series coupled torsion bar system. A first stage torsion bar provides tuning of the steering system, and by reducing its diameter relative to the second stage, provides a lower torsional spring rate and higher operational stress level than that of the second stage. The second stage torsion bar provides the stress/strain indicia referenced by a torque-measuring device, and is stressed at a lower level than the first stage and therefore has a higher cycle life than that of the first stage bar. Hence, if stress related failure ever occurs, it will only occur in the first stage torsion bar, thereby preventing any torque from reaching the second stage, thereby causing a zero strain signal and thus rendering the system fail-safe and not subject to instability of vehicle steering if the torsion bar breaks.

  • Publication number: 20050060290
Abstract: A query is received and parsed to generate a set of query terms. Statistical information is identified regarding each of the query terms and different permutations of the query terms. Additionally, lexical affinities associated with the permutations of query terms are identified. Next, the query is classified into a query category and a set of ranking parameters and routing information (associated with the query category) are identified. The query is then issued to a search engine by applying the identified ranking parameters and routing information, whereupon the search engine executes the query and forwards search results that can be accessed by an application using an API (e.g., the results can be viewed via a browser).

  • Publication number: 20050058771
Abstract: A method of applying paste to an electronic circuit board substrate containing via openings comprises providing over the substrate a mask having openings therein for lines and openings corresponding to the substrate via openings, and providing a roller having a surface adjacent the roller. Paste is then applied either to the mask or to a side of the surface facing the mask. The method then includes rolling the roller and the surface over the mask and flowing the paste into the openings in the mask without substantially sliding the roller and surface over the mask. In the preferred embodiment, paste is applied to a side of the surface facing the mask and the surface containing the paste is rolled over the mask. The surface may be attached to the roller. More preferably, the surface is on a film strip, separate from the roller, disposed between the roller and the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20050059460
Abstract: A gaming device and method are set forth which includes a puzzle bonus feature. When the feature bonus is triggered, puzzle image fragments are selected and positioned and if they match the image and position, the fragment is locked in position. The selection and positioning of fragments may take place over several bonus rounds and the player is awarded a bonus based upon at least the number of properly positioned fragments to fill out the bonus puzzle image.

  • Publication number: 20050059746
Abstract: In at least one embodiment, the present invention relates to a method and system for providing blends of virgin polyethylene terephthalate (VPET) and a VPET property modifying component (PCM). In one embodiment, separate sources of solid VPET and solid PMC are provided. A conduit is provided between the sources and a bulk-container, which is suitable for delivery to an end user. VPET from the source of VPET and PMC from the PMC source are selectively dispensed into the conduit in a desired amount to form a uniform blend of materials comprising a predetermined ratio of VPET relative to PMC. The blend of materials is transported to the bulk-container for delivery to an end user.

  • Publication number: 20050057798
Abstract: There is disclosed a prism for use in scanning applications such as total internal reflection microscopy in which the prism is translated relative to an incident light beam. A geometry is disclosed which cancels walk of the beam footprint at the base of the prism. Walk of the beam footprint due to irregularities in a largely planar sample surface located at the prism base are cancelled by coupling movement of the incident light beam to movement of the sample in the field of view of an objective lens, for example as part of an autofocus arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20050060372
Abstract: Described are techniques used with application monitoring in connection with performing Web Services. Associated with each application performing a service are one or more application servers and associated stream sensors. The stream sensors filter received XML messages in accordance with a set of rules to gather data. The filtered data is gathered at each point and then may be aggregated locally for each transaction by an aggregation service. Data may be gathered from each aggregation service by a global aggregator. Rules are specified initially and may be revised during runtime while gathering data. Rules are evaluated at runtime in accordance with the data stream.

  • Publication number: 20050060677
Abstract: A novel method is presented for mapping a signal driver of an integrated circuit to one of a plurality of interconnect pads. The output impedance of the signal driver and desired slew rate for a signal generated by the signal driver is used to calculate a desired characteristic capacitance to provide a resulting characteristic time constant required to achieve the desired slew rate on a transmission line connected to receive the signal. The characteristic capacitance associated with each at least one possible interconnection path between the driver and pad is estimated, and one of the interconnection paths whose associated characteristic capacitance is substantially equal to the desired characteristic capacitance is selected, and the output driver is then mapped to the pad associated with the selected interconnection path.

  • Publication number: 20050060752
Abstract: A digital content transmission and reception system that uses feedback and re-transmission of missing content is described. A content transmission system broadcasts a complete set of digital content to a plurality of content reception systems via a communication link. A content reception system receives a corresponding incomplete set of digital content, determines particular content portions that are missing, and provided feedback indicating the missing content portions to the content distribution system. The content distribution system the re-transmits content based on the feedback.
