  • Patent number: 11597463
Abstract: An electric-powered personal transport vehicle with a board to support a weight of a user and one or more wheels driven by one or more electric motors is discussed. The electric motors are powered by one or more batteries. A throttle has a thumb wheel speed controller on a handlebar. The thumb wheel speed controller has a horizontal manipulation between accelerate, neutral, and brake input positions such that pressing the thumbwheel speed controller in a vertical direction will not result in an unintentional acceleration or braking.

  • Patent number: 10994190
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are discussed for an electric powered personal transportation vehicle with electric motors powered by one or more batteries. A battery pack storage enclosure i) contains a set of pocket cores. The first battery pack storage enclosure has a rigid internal structure that has a set of pocket cores that hold the battery cells in place and ii) contains a metal mid-plate that functionally transfers thermal heat rapidly through a metal mass of the metal mid-plate to smooth out spikes of local temperatures when an initial battery cell overheats and fails in order to minimize the heat from the initial battery cell failure from propagating and causing a neighboring battery cell to also fail from the heat.

  • Patent number: 9238429
Abstract: A braking apparatus is described which is used to control the motion of a sliding platform of a pickup truck in order that the sliding platform may be stopped anywhere along its travel for convenience. The sliding platform is used to load and unload freight from the pickup truck when in an extended position at the rear of the truck. When the truck is parked on ground which is uneven the sliding platform is provided with energy which must be dissipated when it is moved from one position to another. When the usual braking device is released (usually a pin located appropriately in the tracks of the platform members) the sliding platform is in a “runaway” condition. The brake described here is capable of preventing this condition.

  • Publication number: 20130094931
Abstract: An extendible device, which comprises three parts, a first of which is a framework which is stationary. A second framework is mounted on the first framework, and rolls on the first framework. The third part is a ramp which is stored in a cavity provided in the second framework. To load equipment, one has to first extend the extendible device, pull out the ramp, and lower the ramp by pivoting it from its extended position so that the ramp ends rest on the ground, drive up or load the equipment, pivot the ramp upwardly, then slide the ramp into its stored position in the second framework, roll the extendible device to its original position, and then make sure that the freight is permanently located in the cargo carrying area.

  • Patent number: 7445263
Abstract: A sliding platform is mounted on low friction rollers to cooperate with a stationary frame to produce an extending platform for the cargo area of a suitable vehicle. The stationary frame may be fastened in the cargo area of a motor vehicle by means of specially shaped bolts which attach the stationary frame to the front wall of the cargo area. The forward end of the stationary frame is therefore held in place by means of only two fastening bolts. The rearward portion of the stationary frame is located and held in place by two jackscrews which serve to engage the two opposing walls of the cargo bay. A spring loaded handle is used to unlatch the sliding platform and allow it to be slid on said stationary frame to an extended position. The spring loaded handle may be pulled out from its nested position to provide better access and gripping of the handle.
