    Abstract: Described is a system and method for quantifying and calculating a similarity between two occupations utilizing information provided by the Occupational Information Network (“the O*NET). More specifically, the system is in communication with the O*NET, which rates a plurality of occupations in terms of a plurality of quantifying values. The system accesses the quantifying values assigned to each of the two occupations and calculates the similarity therebetween.
