  • Patent number: 11408460
Abstract: A disclosed tolerance compensator system reduces or avoids bending of components when the components are fastened to each other, thereby increasing the reliability of the components. The limited number of parts of the tolerance compensator system simplifies manufacturing and reduces costs. A disclosed method for fastening components together using the tolerance compensator system reduces or avoids bending of components, increases the reliability of the components, reduces fastening times, and simplifies fastening procedures.

  • Patent number: 11122654
Abstract: It is proposed herein to employ thyristor firing angles as a fast prediction of flicker in power supply for an electric arc furnace. It is further proposed to actively modify operating variables for the electric arc furnace to maintain the flicker below a predefined threshold. Aspects of the present application use the thyristor firing angles in combination with control ranges of variable reactance devices to predict the flicker severity level generated by the electric arc furnace with thyristor-controlled variable reactance devices. Based on the predicted flicker level, at least one operating variable of the electric arc furnace may be changed, if required, to maintain flicker to acceptable limit.

  • Publication number: 20050006259
Abstract: A storage case for a generally planar item such as a compact disc is described. The case (10) comprises a pair of faces (12) adapted to distort when a compressive force is applied parallel to the plane of the disc (34). The case (10) also includes retaining means (14, 30) between the faces (12) which are adapted to hold the disc (34) in the case (10) when relaxed and adapted to urge the disc (34) out of the case (10) when the faces (12) are distorted by a force applied thereacross. Thus, the case (10) is easy to open and close and in the closed position protects the disc (34) from shock. Furthermore, a single action both opens the case (10) and offers the disc (34) out of the case for easy retrieval. The case (10) can also be adapted to clean the disc (34) as it is inserted into or withdrawn from the case.
