  • Publication number: 20200060430
Abstract: A bumper apparatus including a bumper and a bumper retaining element connected proximate to a lower edge of the bumper along a majority of a length of the bumper and configured to extend laterally outward from the bumper. The bumper retaining element may be configured to be positioned between a mattress and an occupant laying on the mattress such that a clamping force is exerted on the bumper retaining element, thereby inhibiting movement between the bumper apparatus and at least one of the mattress or the occupant.

  • Publication number: 20140259393
Abstract: An infant crib with tensioned netting. A frame having corner posts connected by upper and lower rails, is provided. A support arm has a first portion connected to each corner post, and second portion extending inwardly. A mattress support frame is supported by each second portion. A mattress overlies the mattress support frame. A bed skirt has an upper edge engaged by respective skirt rods that engage respective skirt rod receivers on the upper end of the support arms. A plurality of rod hooks is mounted on the inside wall of the lower rail. Netting extends between and around the corner posts and the rails. The upper ends of the netting roll over the upper rail and engage a respective upper rod, extending between adjacent posts. The lower ends of the netting engage a respective lower rod, secured within the rod hooks. Resilient and foraminous crib sidewalls are thereby defined.

  • Patent number: 6990697
Abstract: A bed rail for mounting to the side of a bed includes a pair of support legs and an entrapment-resistant side panel. The side panel includes a rigid frame enclosed within a flexible bed rail cover. The frame is generally rectangular in shape, having upper, intermediate, and lower horizontal rods, spanning first and second vertical shafts. The intermediate rod is preferably attached to the bed rail covering by means of a sheath, and located so as to restrain outward lateral excursions of said bed rail covering in the region between the lower and upper rods. The lowermost ends of the vertical shafts are pivotally connected to outer ends of the support legs. The support legs have inner ends installed between the mattress and the box spring. Anchor straps extend between the outer ends of the support legs and an anchor plate on the other side of the bed.

  • Patent number: 5357642
Abstract: An infant support pillow with a vibration inducer such as an audio emitter including two pad members defining a channel sized for supporting an infant generally on its side while sleeping. One of the pad members is structured for removably housing a electrically powered audio emitter. The audio emitter is structured for emitting a generated sound preferably similar to those sounds experienced by the infant when in the womb, and thereby promoting sleep.

  • Patent number: 5272780
Abstract: A support pillow having two resilient pads and a bottom panel connecting between the two pads. The two pads are in spaced relationship with one another so as to define a channel to receive an infant placed on its side within the channel. The infant's head and possibly arms extend out one open end of the channel, and his legs extend out the other oppositely disposed open end of the channel. The channel is defined by planar walls of the spaced pads. The planar walls of the pads are soft so as to be somewhat conformable to the natural curvature of the infant's body when the width of the channel is adjusted with the opposing planar walls pressed snugly against the infant, one wall against his back, and the other wall against his chest area. The planar walls support the body with wide surface area contact and thereby comfort and adequate holding pressures are gained. Capabilities for adjusting the width of the channel are provide with adjustable fasteners such as hook and loop.

  • Patent number: 5216772
Abstract: A support pillow in two main sections, each section having an elongated resilient foam member each covered with fabric with a portion of the fabric extending outward to define a flexible panel. The top surface of one panel, and the bottom surface of the other panel are affixed with elongated hook and loop fastening strips which allow adjustable overlapping affixment of the two panels one to another in order to affix together the two sections of the support pillow. The two sections of the support pillow when affixed together define an open-ended and open-top vertical walled channel with the panels and fabric covered foam members providing an anti-roll device for the infant. The hook and loop attachment of the two panels provides for adjustability in the distance between vertical side walls of the channel.

  • Patent number: 5193238
Abstract: A support pillow in two detachable main sections, each section having an elongated right triangular wedge-shaped resilient foam member each covered with fabric with a portion of the fabric extending outward to define a flexible rectangular panel. The top surface of one rectangular panel, and the bottom surface of the other rectangular panel are affixed with elongated hook and loop fastening strips which allow adjustable overlapping affixment of the two rectangular panels one to another, thereby allowing affixing together of the two main sections of the pillow. When affixed together, the two sections of the support pillow define an open-ended and open-top channel with the rectangular panels and fabric covered foam members providing a roll-preventing flat bottom, and the fabric covered foam members additionally defining two spaced apart vertically oriented side walls of the channel.
