  • Publication number: 20200202058
Abstract: Systems and methods for designing an information processing system are described. In one embodiment, a design space is partitioned into a plurality of independent partitions based on a defined set of rules. A unique processing core is assigned to each partition. A plurality of starting points is generated for each partition, where each starting point is associated with a machine learning algorithm. The starting points for each partition may include a performance driven seed and an area-driven seed. A set of feasible designs associated with the information processing system are determined.

  • Patent number: 9762902
Abstract: A method for decoding and reconstructing a QM associated with a picture, wherein the method comprises acquiring at least one reference QM and at least one weighting factor associated with the reference QM, wherein the reference QM is a previously decoded QM, and computing a predicted matrix using the reference QM and the weighting factor associated with the reference QM, wherein the predicted matrix is used to reconstruct the QM. In another embodiment, a method for encoding a QM associated with a picture, wherein the method comprises acquiring a first QM reference and a second QM reference, acquiring a first weighting factor that corresponds to the first QM reference and a second weighting factor that corresponds to the second QM reference, obtaining the predicted QM using the first QM reference, the second QM reference, the first weighting factor, and the second weighting factor.

  • Patent number: 8296710
Abstract: A method for implementing soft constraints in scheduling comprises receiving a description of circuit behavior. The description is un-timed. A scheduling solution is generated for use in scheduling the description. The scheduling solution includes scheduling variables and an objective function. The scheduling variables schedule the time of at least one operation. The objective function includes a penalty term and constraints comprising at least one hard constraint and at least one soft constraint. The constraints are created on the scheduling variables. The penalty term comprises a slack variable representing violations of the constraints. The penalty term measures the design cost of violating the soft constraint. Following generation of the scheduling solution, the description is scheduled by applying the scheduling solution to the description. Timing information of the description is provided as an output of the scheduling.

  • Patent number: 8270316
Abstract: An on-chip Radio Frequency (RF) Interconnect (RF-I) for communication between internal circuit nodes of an integrated circuit is provided. In one embodiment, an integrated circuit is provided that includes an on-chip transmission line, a first circuit node associated with an RF transmitter connected to the transmission line, and a second circuit node associated with an RF receiver connected to the transmission line. In order to transmit data from the first circuit node to the second circuit node, the RF transmitter associated with the first circuit node modulates the data onto an RF carrier frequency to provide a modulated RF signal and transmits the modulated RF signal over the transmission line. The RF receiver associated with the second circuit node receives the modulated RF signal from the transmission line and demodulates the modulated RF signal to recover the data for the second circuit node.

  • Patent number: 7013253
Abstract: A method and apparatus for identifying potential noise failures in an integrated circuit design is described. In one embodiment, the method comprises locating a victim net and an aggressor within the integrated circuit design, modeling the victim net using two ?-type resistor-capacitor (RC) circuits, including determining a coupling between the victim net and the aggressor, and indicating that the integrated circuit design requires modification if modeling the victim net indicates that a potential noise failure may occur in the integrated circuit design.
