  • Publication number: 20230131959
Abstract: A helmet is provided, which includes a helmet shell and a fastening assembly. The fastening assembly has a mounting fixture releasably connected to the helmet shell and a release mechanism operatively connectable to the mounting fixture, where connection of the release mechanism to the mounting fixture secures the mounting fixture to the helmet shell, and disconnection of the release mechanism from the mounting fixture enables disconnection of the mounting fixture from the helmet shell.

  • Publication number: 20210391921
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing a communications link (106) for a defined geographic region (120) and for reducing latency in a communications network (100) are disclosed. A satellite system comprises: a space segment comprising a plurality of satellites (102); and first and second ground segment systems (106, 110). The space segment and the first and second ground segment systems are configured to establish a communications link between the first and second ground segment systems via the space segment. Each of the plurality of satellites may be in a repeating ground track orbit (208), such as a sun synchronous daily repeating ground track orbit, and precede one another on the same ground track, and the satellites may be disposed in respective separate orbital planes.

  • Patent number: 10786032
Abstract: A skydiving helmet including a helmet shell having a front opening, is provided. The helmet further includes a visor having a lateral mounting section, where the visor is operable between a lowered position and a raised position. The skydiving helmet also includes a visor mounting system laterally positioned on the helmet shell to pivotally connect the lateral mounting section to the helmet shell. The visor mounting system includes a base plate having a cavity formed therein with a locking slot and a guiding section communicating with one another. The visor mounting system also includes a locking element positioned within the cavity and being operable between an extended configuration for preventing rotation of the visor, and a retracted configuration for allowing a frontward translation of the visor, away from the helmet front opening, and subsequent rotation of the visor, from the lowered to the raised position.

  • Patent number: 8635715
Abstract: A visor locking assembly alone or in combination with a helmet shell and visor. The visor locking assembly is attached to said shell and is used to mount the visor in a manner that allows the visor to be locked in a desired position. The visor locking assembly is configured to prevent the visor from being moved from a fully lowered position to a raised position unless the visor is displaced laterally forward away from the face of the wearer of the helmet. The locking assembly further comprises a body and a rotatable hub, wherein the body comprises a cavity, and wherein the cavity further comprises a protrusion on the wall of the cavity, and wherein the rotatable hub comprises a recess formed along the circumference of the hub. The hub is positioned to rotate within the cavity, and the hub is prevented from rotational movement when the protrusion is positioned within (engaged with) the recess. When the hub is displaced laterally within the cavity away from the protrusion, the hub becomes rotatable.
