Publication number: 20250110476Abstract: A mover system includes a track, a plurality of movers configured to move along the track, and one or more processors configured to determine a first amount of energy consumption associated with a first portion of the plurality of movers and a second amount of energy consumption associated with a second portion of the plurality of movers and determine a first emissions per unit for each of the first portion of the plurality of movers based on the first amount of energy consumption and a second emissions per unit for each of the second portion of the plurality of movers based on the second amount of energy consumption. The one or more processors are also configured to determine one or more operating settings for the mover system based on the first emissions per unit, the first emissions per unit, or both and send one or more commands to the first number of the plurality of movers, the second number of the plurality of movers, or both based on the one or more operating settings.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 28, 2023Publication date: April 3, 2025Inventors: Yuhong Huang, Alexandra L. Schwertner, Andrea Ruotolo, Kyle Crum, Joshua W. Connor, Jason R. Mannion, Sinethemba Zulu

Publication number: 20240209265Abstract: A coke oven includes an oven chamber configured to support and heat a coal bed, a castable slab below the oven chamber, and a foundation supporting the heat recovery oven. One or more beams are positioned between the castable slab and the foundation. The beams extend from a first end of the oven chamber to a second end of the oven chamber, forming a plurality of air gaps between the castable slab and the foundation. Heat from the oven chamber is dissipated by the one or more beams.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2023Publication date: June 27, 2024Inventors: John Francis Quanci, Chun Wai Choi, Mark Anthony Ball, Jason Crum, Milos J. Kaplarevic

Patent number: 11845898Abstract: A system and method for repairing a coke oven having an oven chamber formed from ceramic bricks. A representative system includes a insulated enclosure insertable into the oven chamber and includes removable insulated panels that define an interior area for workers to work in. The insulated enclosure is movable between an expanded configuration and a compact configuration and moving the enclosure to the expanded configuration will decrease the distance between the insulated enclosure and the walls of the oven chamber. Removing the panels exposes the ceramic bricks and allows workers within the interior area to access and the bricks and repair the oven chamber while the oven chamber is still hot. A loading apparatus lifts and inserts the insulated enclosure into the oven chamber. The insulated enclosure can be coupled to additional insulated enclosures to form an elongated interior area.Type: GrantFiled: November 8, 2021Date of Patent: December 19, 2023Assignee: SUNCOKE TECHNOLOGY AND DEVELOPMENT LLCInventors: Jason Crum, Mark Anthony Ball, Gary Dean West, John Francis Quanci, Chun Wai Choi

Publication number: 20080185455Abstract: An automatic vehicle spraying system comprising a spray apparatus positioned on a boom. The spray apparatus is not rigidly fixed to the boom, but instead is able to be raised and lowered from the boom. A vertical sensor and a horizontal sensor detect when a vehicle passes underneath the spray apparatus and transmit an electronic signal to a programmable logic controller. The controller then determines if the vehicle is in the proper position, causes an actuator to lower the spray apparatus from the boom toward the vehicle surface, and causes the spray apparatus to begin spraying a fluid onto the appropriate vehicle surface. In particular, this invention is useful for the application of asphalt release agents to trucks used to transport asphalt.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 4, 2008Publication date: August 7, 2008Applicant: BG Chemical, LPInventor: Jason Crum
