  • Patent number: 10087613
Abstract: A vacuum truck for dispensing water into a sewer or similar location and receiving recovered water from the sewer that includes debris to be removed therefrom. The vacuum truck includes a debris tank that receives the recovered water and retains debris removed from the recovered water. A primary and a secondary filter are positioned in the debris tank for separating debris from the recovered water. A water pump draws the recovered water through the secondary filter and provides the water to a tertiary filter that removes smaller debris from the recovered water. The recovered water from the tertiary filter is provided directly to a jetting water pump without being accumulated in a water holding tank. The vacuum truck includes a water storage tank that includes potable water for cleaning the truck or when recovered water is not available from the debris tank.

  • Publication number: 20170184090
Abstract: A reciprocating jetting water pump primarily for use on a vacuum truck is disclosed. The jetting water pump includes a pair of reciprocating pistons that are each movable within an outer cylinder mounted to a center block. Each of the outer cylinders is mounted to the center block by a plurality of tie-rod that each extend between the center block and an end plate. An airflow passageway is formed in the center block to vent air trapped within the open interior of the first outer cylinder during reciprocating movement of the piston in the first outer cylinder. A control system mounted to the vacuum truck senses the pressure of water leaving the jetting water pump and controls the supply of pressurized hydraulic fluid to the jetting water pump to maintain the water pressure at an operator selected value.

  • Publication number: 20150151662
Abstract: A vacuum loader truck that includes a storage tank that can be loaded and unloaded with debris. The vacuum loader truck includes a debris level sensor that generates a sensing beam to detect the level of debris within the storage tank. The level of debris within the storage tank is determined by a control module and displayed. The debris level sensor may be an ultrasonic sensor that generates a sensing beam that is reflected off of the top surface of the debris within the storage tank. The control module determines the height of the debris within the storage tank based upon the time delay between the generation of the sensing signal and the reflected signal. The control system further includes a particle sensor to determine whether particles are entrained in the airflow from the storage tank. A pair of pressure sensors are located on opposite sides of an air filter to sense the differential pressure across the air filter.

The jetting water pump includes a pair of reciprocating pistons that are each movable within an outer cylinder mounted to a center block. The outer surface of each of the pistons includes a polymer surface that is closely spaced to the inner surface of the outer cylinder.
