  • Patent number: 10166914
Abstract: A display article includes a film formed from a stretchable plastic and including a first plurality of micro-light emitting diodes and a second plurality of micro-light emitting diodes disposed adjacent to the first plurality and embedded in the plastic. The article includes a substrate having a first portion and a second portion, and a tear seam disposed between the first and second portions. The film is attached to the substrate such that the tear seam is located between the first and second pluralities. A component includes the display article and an airbag disposed adjacent the substrate and configured for transitioning between a stowed position in which the airbag does not extend through the substrate, and a deployed position in which the airbag extends through the substrate and the film. The first and second portions are separated at the tear seam when the airbag is disposed in the deployed position.

  • Patent number: 10169934
Abstract: Enhanced features of a vehicle-based transportation system are presented here. In accordance with one methodology, the transportation system receives a ride request that identifies a passenger, a pickup location, and a destination location. The transportation system determines that the passenger requires user-specific security clearance to access a secured area at or near the destination location, and coordinates with a security system to grant the user-specific security clearance to the passenger. The transportation system can also determine a vehicle drop-off location based on the passenger destination, and coordinate with a navigation system to obtain navigation instructions to guide the passenger from the vehicle drop-off location to the passenger destination.

  • Publication number: 20170351107
Abstract: A method of creating an apparent three-dimensional image of an object includes determining a first position of a user, creating a first two-dimensional image of the object, determining a second position of the user that is different from the first position, creating a second two-dimensional image of the object that is different from the first two-dimensional image, presenting the first two-dimensional image to the user only when the user is disposed in the first position, and presenting the second two-dimensional image to the user only when the user is disposed in the second position to thereby create the apparent three-dimensional image. A display system is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20170213308
Abstract: Enhanced features of a vehicle based transportation system are presented here. In accordance with one methodology, the transportation system processes ride requests for multiple passengers of an autonomous vehicle based transportation system. Each ride request is associated with a respective pickup location and a respective destination location. The system calculates a respective passenger transportation route for each actively operating autonomous vehicle, wherein each passenger transportation route is based at least in part on the pickup locations and destination locations associated with the ride requests, and wherein each passenger transportation route is calculated in accordance with predetermined prioritization criteria. The actively operating autonomous vehicles are controlled in a desired manner to satisfy at least some of the ride requests.
