  • Patent number: 11074663
Abstract: A system and method is provided for the facilitation of secure intellectual property transactions. The system may receive intellectual property information from system users. The system may match system users based on the provided intellectual property information to facilitate the initiation of an intellectual property transaction. The system may further provide a secure audit trail of all activity that occurs surrounding the intellectual property transaction, thereby increasing levels of trust between the involved parties.

    Assignee: Camelot UK Bidco Limited
Inventors: Jason E. Rollins, Penelope L. Peng
  • Patent number: 10509861
Abstract: A multi-component software system facility matches unpublished academic manuscripts with a list or set of recommended potential “best fit” publications, e.g., journals, e.g., those publications determined most likely to accept the manuscript for publication. Upon selecting from a set of recommended publications a user may electronically upload or submit or transmit the unpublished article or work or manuscript to a target publication review and editing system. The present invention provides a client or web-based interface to effectively integrate word processor and bibliographic management software and other resources, including third-party authority databases.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 31, 2016
Date of Patent: December 17, 2019
    Assignee: Camelot UK Bidco Limited

  • Patent number: 9690807
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to implementing image-based retrieval of a cited reference in a written work. A unique alphanumeric identifier extracted from an image taken of a portion of a written work can be programmatically compared to stored identifiers in an authority database in response to a request received from a portable computing device. Cited reference data can be retrieved from the authority database in response to a favorably comparison of the unique alphanumeric identifier to at least one of the stored identifiers associated with a reference stored in the authority database and the cited reference data can be provided to the portable computing device for output on the display of the portable computing device.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 18, 2013
Date of Patent: June 27, 2017
Assignee: Thomson Reuter's Global Resources (TRGR)

  • Patent number: 8201085
Abstract: The present invention relates to enhanced workflow solutions for authors (e.g., researchers, scientists, and scholarly authors) and publishers (e.g., journals and professional and technical societies) in preparing documents in structured format for facilitating efficient and accurate validation of references cited or included in papers and other submissions for publication or for review. An author prepares a document containing a set of cited references using a formatting structure. A system includes a processor to process the document to extract embedded metadata associated with the set of cited references. The processor executes code associated with a reference validation software module and automatically recognizes the formatting structure and the embedded metadata. The processor automatically extracts the embedded metadata and compares the extracted metadata against an authority database to determine the validity of the set of cited references.
