  • Patent number: 9168598
Abstract: A power saw arrangement includes a saw blade, a base, a table and a supplemental support. The base defines a support surface and includes first and second stops. The table is movably coupled to the base and rotates about a table axis. The handle extends from the table and is movable relative to the base between first and second positions. In the first and second positions, the handle engages the first and second stops, respectively. A handle space is defined by movement of the handle between the first and second stops. The supplemental support does not provide the first or second stop. The supplemental support is movably coupled to the base and is moveable between extended and retracted positions. In the extended and retracted positions, the supplemental support is positioned within and without the handle space, respectively.

  • Patent number: 8616104
Abstract: A table saw includes a support arrangement, a table top assembly connected to the support arrangement, the table top assembly having (i) a work piece support surface, and (ii) a saw blade opening defined in the work piece support surface, a saw assembly supported under the table top assembly including a saw blade, and a saw assembly adjustment mechanism having a user actuator. The user actuator causes movement of the saw blade in relation to the work piece support surface. A first extension element extends from the support arrangement and defines a first extension space, and a second extension element extends from the support arrangement and defines a second extension space, wherein a first protection zone is defined between the first extension space and the second extension space, and wherein the actuator is completely contained within the first protection zone.

  • Publication number: 20110067540
Abstract: Embodiments of a power table saw are described which have a frame structure configured to support a movable saw assembly. The table saw also includes a rip fence attached to the frame structure in a fixed position for contacting a work piece during a cutting operation by said table saw. Further, a table assembly is provided, having a top surface for supporting a work piece, a blade extendable through an opening in the top surface for cutting a work piece, and a motor mounted beneath the top surface for driving the blade. The table assembly is movably mounted on the frame structure so that the table assembly is adjustable, allowing adjustment of the distance between the blade and the rip fence.
