Abstract: A system and method is provided for facilitating a communication between a client and an advisor. The system preferably includes a client device, an advisor device, and a host device, all connected via a network. The client device may interact with a website to request a communication with an advisor. The host device may provide the request to the advisor via a mobile application operating on the advisor device. The mobile application may also be used to upload data to the host device and to participate in the scheduled communication, such as a telephone call. Prior to using the application to participate in the communication, the host device may verify the application by calling it and verbally requesting the entry of verification data. If the advisor enters correct data, the application will be considered verified, and the advisor can use it to participate in the scheduled communication with the client.

Abstract: A system is provided for establishing an open communication channel between a client and an advisor. The system includes a client device, an advisor device, and a host device, all connected via a network. If the client interacts with a “talk” portion of a mobile web site, the host will attempt to authorize the request by determining whether the client has sufficient funds in their account to cover a communication with the advisor for a predetermined period of time, where the predetermined period of time is either set by the host, an administer, or the advisor. If the host device determines that sufficient funds are available, the host device then determines whether the advisor is currently available. If the advisor is currently available, then the host will provide a phone number to the client device and update the advisor's queue to reflect the instant communication.

The client device is configured to interact with a website in order to schedule a communication with an advisor. The client device can then be used to participate in the scheduled communication with the advisor. During the communication, a telephone application may be configured to monitor the communication channel between the parties. If the application determines that the client connection has been lost, the application may ask the advisor whether he/she wants to reestablish a connection with the client. If the answers is yes, then the application may ask the client if he/she wants to reestablish a call with the advisor. If the answer is yes, then the application will rejoin the client with the advisor over the communication channel.

The system also includes a scheduling module configured to schedule a time when the first party can be allowed to communicate with the second party, wherein the scheduled time is determined by one of the first party and the second party based at least on the estimated wait time.

The system includes a database having stored therein an availability of at least one first party for calls for a plurality of time periods. The system can be accessed by a second party. The availability of a specific first party for a call at a scheduled time period based on the plurality of time periods is determined. The scheduled time period is selected by the second party for the call with the first party. The second party selects a mode of the call between the second party and the first party at the scheduled time period. In a first mode, the system establishes communications with the second party and the system enables communications between the second party and the first party. In a second mode, the second party calls the first party directly.
