The printer can print the document on a print medium. The printer can perform an on-media measurement of the color as printed on the print medium. The printer can perform an off-media measurement of the color as printed on an internal surface of the printer. The printer can use the on-media measurement and the off-media measurement to update a correlation that is used in the off-media calibration routine.
