  • Publication number: 20240098856
Abstract: A lighting device, such as a light-emitting diode (LED) light source, may operate in an interim operable state to avoid and/or prevent undesirable characteristics in the light emitted by the lighting device (e.g., strobing and/or flickering of a brightness of the light and/or shifting or change of a color of the light). When operating in a normal state, the control circuit may determine if a measured value of a first operational characteristic (e.g., a forward voltage of an emitter of the lighting device) is outside of a range and operate in the interim operable state if the measured value of the first operational characteristic is outside of the range. When operating in the interim operable state, the control circuit may adjust a drive current for the emitter in response to a measured value of a second operational characteristic (e.g., a forward voltage of a detector of the lighting device).

  • Patent number: 11930621
Abstract: Some embodiments include a thermal ground plane comprising a first and second casing with folding and non-folding regions. The thermal ground plane may also include a vapor structure and a mesh. The mesh may be disposed on an interior surface of the second casing and the mesh include a plurality of arteries extending substantially parallel with a length of the thermal ground plane. The folding region of the first casing may have an out-of-plane wavy structure. The valleys and peaks of the out-of-plane wavy structure, for example, may extend across a width of the first active region substantially parallel with a width of the thermal ground plane.

  • Patent number: 8095399
Abstract: A virtual insurance producer Web site is provided at which a prospective insurance customer may request a bindable premium quotation for an insurance policy. The prospective customer may be asked to provide information relating to the insurability of an individual to be insured by the insurance policy and information relating to the coverage to be provided by the insurance policy. The premium is displayed to the prospective customer as a bindable quotation that binds the insurance company providing the policy and that may be purchased on-line immediately. The prospective customer may purchase the insurance policy according to the provided bindable premium quotation through the virtual insurance producer Web site. If the prospective customer elects to purchase the policy, the virtual insurance producer Web site may re-intermediate an insurance agent into the sales process and transmit the insurance policy to the customer in electronic form.

  • Patent number: 7925523
Abstract: A virtual insurance producer Web site is provided at which a prospective insurance customer may request a bindable premium quotation for an insurance policy.
