  • Patent number: 8888314
Abstract: Provided is a lighting apparatus using light emitting diodes (LEDs) having a lateral heat radiation unit structure that can maximize heat radiation effect by employing an air vent structure causing atmospheric pressure difference between both side ends of an air circulation path. The lighting apparatus comprising a housing having a power supply accommodation space therein, a heat radiation unit that comprises an LED module accommodation groove that is installed on the top of the housing and having at least one inclined surface or mounting surface on which the LED module is mounted, and a number of fins that are formed on the outer circumferential surface of the LED module accommodation groove, an air circulation path that is lengthily formed between the housing and the heat radiation unit.

  • Patent number: 8540397
Abstract: The invention includes a lamp housing member having a circular upper plate and a side portion formed at the outer circumference of the upper plate, first light emitting diode modules that are provided on a lower surface of the upper plate and are supplied with power to emit light, and second light emitting diode modules that are mounted on the inner surface of the side portion and are supplied with power to emit light. According to the invention, it is possible to increase a light distribution area, achieve illumination with high brightness, and improve flexibility in the road lighting design. In addition, it is possible to easily ensure a cut-off-angle at which pedestrians or drivers cannot directly view the second light emitting diode modules by adjusting the inclination angle of the side portion.

  • Publication number: 20130094208
Abstract: Provided is a light-emitting diode (LED) streetlight that can implement LED lighting having a high heat emission efficiency and a favorable light distribution function, while maintaining a prototype of general post top lights as they are at maximum. The LED streetlight includes: a connection member that is placed on top of a post; a transparent or translucent protective cover that is placed on top of the connection member; a least one LED module that is surrounded by the protective cover; and a heat sink that is placed on top of the protective cover, to thus form an accommodation space that accommodates the LED module together with the connection member, in which the LED module is placed on the bottom surface of the heat sink, to thus allow heat generated from the LED module to be radiated outwardly.

  • Patent number: 8287152
Abstract: Disclosed is a light apparatus using light emitting diodes that includes: a base body member having a mounting surface on its one surface; a plurality of inclined block members each of which is mounted on the mounting surface of the base body member and has an inclined surface on one surface thereof; and light emitting diode module members that are mounted on the inclined surfaces of the inclined block members. According to the disclosure, it is possible to easily form various light distributions required for the lighting design by combining the inclined block members and the light emitting diode module members that are mounted on the mounting surfaces of the base body member, and various light distributions can be formed, which makes it possible to improve flexibility in the lighting design and to improve lighting efficiency for an object to be illuminated.
