  • Patent number: 10830272
Abstract: A clamp-action ratchet fastening nut assembly comprising, a body having a proximal end and a distal end, a hollow cap connected to the body, an annular collar within the cap and defining an interior camming surface, a plurality of threaded axial nut sections disposed in the hollow cap in engagement with the annular collar, and configured for movement between a radially closed position in which the plurality of threaded axial nut sections form an axial bore having a continuous internal thread, and a radially open position, and a spring positioned in the hollow cap and configured to bias the plurality of threaded axial nut sections proximally against the interior camming surface of the annular collar, whereby the plurality of threaded axial nut sections is urged from the radially open position to the radially closed position.

  • Publication number: 20190078354
Abstract: A push bar door exit device includes a latch actuation assembly configured to be installed in a door and including a linearly-movable latch retractor; a door latch operatively coupled to the latch retractor so as to be moved from a latched position to an unlatched position by the linear movement of the latch retractor; and a push bar mechanism configured for being mounted on the door and including a linearly-movable push bar operatively coupled to the latch actuation assembly so as to translate a linear motion of the push bar into the linear movement of the latch retractor.

  • Publication number: 20190071896
Abstract: A push bar exit device includes a longitudinal housing configured to be mounted on an inside surface of a door, the housing having an interior, a head end, and an open tail end. A length-adjustment tailpiece is slidably installed in the open tail end of the housing. The tailpiece may be slidable continuously within the housing to provide a continuous length adjustment, or it may be incrementally adjustably longitudinally by selective engagement with any of a plurality of detent pairs at discrete positions in the housing from the open tail end, whereby the tailpiece is movable incrementally into any of the discrete longitudinal positions defined by the detent pairs.

  • Publication number: 20180252015
Abstract: A door-closing device connectable by a linkage assembly between a door and a door frame includes a piston linearly movable between a door-open position and a door-closed position toward which the piston is biased. The piston has first and second sets of rack teeth disposed thereon. A pinion gear is mounted on a rotatable shaft coupled to the linkage assembly, the pinion gear having a first set of gear teeth along a first circumferential portion for engagement with the first set of rack teeth, and a second set of gear teeth along a second circumferential portion for engagement with the second set of rack teeth, the engagement between the first set of pinion gear teeth and the first set of rack teeth providing a first gear ratio, and the engagement of the second set of pinion gear teeth with the second set of rack teeth providing a second gear ratio.

  • Patent number: 10000957
Abstract: A method of installing a replacement door closer assembly including a closer mechanism includes the steps of: (a) removing a previous door closer assembly from a mounting surface of a door or a door jamb; (b) fixing a first mounting bracket on the mounting surface through a first pre-existing mounting hole; (c) extending the closer mechanism of the replacement door closer assembly through the first mounting bracket while aligning a second mounting bracket with at least a second pre-existing mounting hole in the mounting surface; (d) sliding the closer mechanism back toward the first mounting bracket so that the second mounting bracket can be fixed to the mounting surface through the second pre-existing mounting hole; and (e) positioning and securing the closer mechanism between the first and second mounting brackets.
