  • Patent number: 8122727
Abstract: A combustion system for an engine, such as a gas turbine engine is provided. The combustion system has a ceramic component, such as ceramic combustor liner, and at least one metal support component, such as a metal ring or a plurality of metal cones, for providing radial and axial support to the ceramic component. The at least one metal support component includes a structure, such as axial slots or radial slots, for minimizing stress and for increasing compliance of the metal support component with respect to the ceramic component.

  • Publication number: 20110131121
Abstract: A refinancing program for an underwater loan is disclosed. In particular embodiments, a method for refinancing a loan includes determining an original loan value, wherein the original loan value is associated with an original loan secured by a property having a current property value that is less than the original loan value. The method also includes calculating, with a processor, a conforming loan value based, at least in part, on the current property value, wherein the conforming loan value is associated with a conforming loan and the conforming loan value is less than the current property value. The method also includes calculating a shared appreciation mortgage (SAM) loan value based on a numerical difference between the conforming loan value and the original loan value.

  • Publication number: 20110067499
Abstract: A method and template enable the testing of fusion joints of plastic pipes to be conducted by a single operator in the field at the welding site by the efficient and precise extraction from the joints to be tested of a number of high quality tensile coupons. The coupons are tested to failure in a field-suitable, well controlled, self contained, tensile testing apparatus. A narrowing bow-tie-like pattern of the coupon ensures that the failure of the coupon in the tensile test will occur at the narrowest section of the coupon. The template can be visually aligned with the joint to ensure that it is the joint that will be tested.

  • Patent number: 7762076
Abstract: A combustor assembly includes a metal section having an axial slot that receives a ceramic section. A clamp is received about the axial slot to secure the metal section and ceramic section together. Tabs on the metal section, a gasket between the metal section and the ceramic section, and springs within the clamp deform an amount that is greater than a thermal expansion difference between the metal section and the ceramic section to maintain a clamping force of the clamp.

  • Publication number: 20080115026
Abstract: The content and order of a predetermined sequence of hard-coded and/or quasi-programmable test patterns may be altered during a Built-In Self-Test (BIST) routine. As such, knowledge gained post design completion may be reflected in the selection and arrangement of available tests to be executed during a BIST routine. In one embodiment, a sequence of hard-coded and/or quasi-programmable tests is executed during a BIST routine by receiving test ordering information for the sequence of tests and executing the sequence of tests in an order indicated by the test ordering information. A corresponding BIST circuit comprises a storage element and a state machine. The storage element is configured to store test ordering information for the sequence of tests. The state machine is configured to execute the sequence of tests in an order indicated by the test ordering information.

  • Patent number: 6564405
Abstract: A labor grip mechanism on each side of a main frame of a birthing bed, each labor grip mechanism having a post with a free end and a hand grip mounted on the free end. A first mounting construction is provided for slidably supporting each post for simultaneous movement between a first position wherein the hand grip is stowed underneath the patient support and a second position wherein the hand grip is oriented wholly out from underneath the patient support. A second mounting construction is provided for supporting each post for simultaneous rotational movement between the second position wherein the hand grip is also oriented in a plane beneath the plane of the patient support and a third position wherein the hand grip is oriented in a plane above the plane of the patient support. A hand grip positioning device is provided for facilitating the rotational movement only when the posts are in the aforesaid second or third position.
