Abstract: A platform-agnostic conferencing system including a media transceiver allowing a virtual collaboration and sharing system allowing a publisher to share media content to multiple viewers. Multiple participants are able to view the shared media, even if each is using different and incompatible platforms, by negotiating connections from differing protocols. Illustrative protocols include, but are not limited to, WebRTC, Flash, and HLC. Additionally, a mixer “multicasts” the content from one user and facilitates the retransmission to the participating differing end-users. Participant identities include an identifier for each participant engaging the collaboration space. The participants occupying the collaboration space can be automatically and dynamically determined. In this way participant roles can be changed from “publisher” to “viewer” and vice versa.

Abstract: An IP video telephone includes a video display for displaying received video signals and a speaker for playing received audio signals. A gateway processor connects the IP video telephone to an external IP network and receives the received audio and video signals. A video processor processes the received video signals while an audio processor processes the received audio signals. Each of the gateway processor, the video processor and the audio processor are interconnected via an ethernet network.

A host server is in communication with the broadband information appliances via a network. At least one media server is in communication with the host server via the network and fulfills requests for media and services from the plurality of broadband information appliances through the host server.

Abstract: An IP video telephone that comprises a video display for displaying video signals and a speaker for playing audio signals. A plurality of processor processes the audio and video signals received and transmitted by the IP video telephone. The processes are interconnected via an ethernet network. Integrated devices are incorporated within the IP video telephone and associated with at least one of the plurality of processors.

Abstract: A method for providing advertising to a video telephone is disclosed, including the steps of monitoring the usage of the video telephone to detect a number of user activities. The detected user activities are stored within a database. The stored user activities within the database are used to generate directed content that is transmitted to the video telephone.
