  • Publication number: 20080204460
Abstract: Many computing device may now include two or more graphics subsystems. The multiple graphics subsystems may have different abilities, and may, for example, consume differing amount of electrical power, with one subsystem consuming more average power than the others. The higher power consuming graphics subsystem may be coupled to the device and used instead of, or in addition to, the lower power consuming graphics subsystem, resulting in higher performance or additional capabilities, but increased overall power consumption. By transitioning from the use of the higher power consuming graphics subsystem to the lower power consuming graphics subsystem, while placing the higher power consuming graphics subsystem in a lower power consumption mode, overall power consumption is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20080143731
Abstract: Graphics generated by one graphics processor are transferred across a high speed interconnect bus to a frame buffer. The rendered frames from the frame buffer are presented on a display by way of a display interface in communication with the frame buffer. The display interface of another existing (e.g. integrated) graphics adapter/subsystem may be used to present the rendered frames on an interconnected display.

  • Publication number: 20070257904
Abstract: A two-dimensional text editing mode is used when editing three-dimensional text. Once the three-dimensional text is selected for editing a two-dimensional text editing mode is automatically entered such that the user may easily edit the text. The two dimensional properties that are associated with the text are displayed within an outline of the shape such that the text may be edited in place. The 2-D properties, such as font, text color, shape color, and the like, are maintained during the editing. After the two-dimensional text editing has been completed, the text is redisplayed according to its 3-D properties.

  • Publication number: 20070062991
Abstract: An apparatus for securing and carrying an extension ladder on a pickup truck is designed so that the ladder rests on both the rear edge of the cab and the upper edge of the tailgate and on the ladder. The apparatus includes resilient pads which are secured to lower edges of the rails with straps to prevent damage to the cab and tailgate. A ladder retention bracket, which mounts on the ladder, has a generally L-shaped frame to which is attached a padded stop plate and at least one ladder indexing arm. The stop plate contacts the inner vertical surface of the tailgate and prevents the secured ladder from sliding rearward, while the ladder indexing arms prevent the ladder from shifting with respect to the ladder retention bracket. With the ladder properly positioned on the vehicle, it is tied or strapped to prevent forward, lateral and vertical movement.

  • Patent number: 7102328
Abstract: A charging stand for selectively enclosing and exposing an appliance such as a hair trimmer having a rechargeable battery includes a base and a cover. The base has an access opening for supporting the appliance, and electrical contacts for charging the battery. The cover fits over the base to define an interior space for enclosing the appliance, and can be secured to the base in at least two positions. In a first position, the cover encloses the appliance with the base. In the second position, the cover exposes the appliance when the appliance is in a raised position.

  • Patent number: 6886255
Abstract: A hair clipper includes a handle portion having a drive end with a first coupler formation, and a blade assembly. The blade assembly includes a housing at least partially enclosing a reciprocating blade and a fixed blade, and having a top, bottom, and at least two sides joining the top and bottom. Integrally joined to and extending away from the bottom of the housing is a second coupler formation for engaging the first coupler formation. The first and second coupler formations form a releasable connection which inhibits movement of the blade assembly with respect to the handle portion when the two coupler formations are engaged.

  • Publication number: 20040142092
Abstract: An improved marshmallow, consisting of an existing or new marshmallow item or shape, which has been infused with, co-extruded with, molded with or injected with a flavored filling, at the time of manufacture or at a later date. In addition, marshmallow could be drop formed over or onto said flavored filling. Said flavored filling could be a simple chocolate or jelly, or a more complex combination of ingredients, that impart the taste of an easily recognizable popular brand name confection such as, Reese's™ peanut butter cups, Milky Ways™ or Snickers™ candies to name a few. Or said flavored filling could impart the taste of a popular liquor such as Ballies Irish cream™, Amaretto™, or Sambooka™.

  • Patent number: 4909749
Abstract: Electrical sockets are disclosed, having insulated housings with apertured end walls for receiving the contact blades of an electrical plug. One socket includes transversely spaced first and second contact bars therein capable of limited movement relative to the housing. This socket also includes first means movable between first and second positions for blocking such limited movement when in its first position and allowing such limited movement when in its second position. It further includes second means movable therein for clamping the contact blades and bars against the first means when the latter is in its first position, thereby to lock the contact blades in the housing, the movement of the first means to its second position serving to unclamp the contact blades and bars to allow the blades to be withdrawn from the housing. Another socket includes transversely spaced first and second contact bars positioned therein.
