    Abstract: A CT imaging system employs a command sequencer to control the operation of the x-ray source and the data acquisition system. The command sequencer stores a set of commands in a FIFO memory that are read out in sequence to perform a scan. Each command contains a count field which indicates how long it is active and other fields enable different clock sources to be selected, enable commands to be repeated and enable command execution to be halted.
