  • Patent number: 10839683
Abstract: A device can obtain acceleration data and GPS location data. The GPS location data can include a plurality of GPS location data samples relating to vehicles. The acceleration data can include a plurality of acceleration data samples relating to one or more of the vehicles. The device can determine, using the plurality of acceleration data samples or the plurality of GPS location data samples, a potential wrong-way travel event associated with a vehicle, determine whether the vehicle is associated with an industry in which vehicles legitimately engage in wrong-way travel after determining the potential wrong-way travel event, and perform one or more actions to cause information regarding the potential wrong-way travel event to be provided to a user device based on determining the potential wrong-way travel event and determining whether the vehicle is associated with an industry in which vehicles legitimately engage in wrong-way travel.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: August 16, 2019
Date of Patent: November 17, 2020
Assignees: Verizon Connect Ireland Limited, Verizon Patent and Licensing Inc.

  • Publication number: 20170154386
Abstract: Systems and methods disclosed herein use a tracking device or system installed during an early stage of a manufacturing process to determine a location of a vehicle under manufacture. This tracking device enables the status of the vehicle to be determined even when multiple entities are involved in the manufacturing process of the vehicle. Advantageously, in certain embodiments, by tracking the manufacturing process of the vehicle across manufacturers, distribution of workload among manufactures may be improved resulting in more efficient manufacturing. Further, requisitions can more accurately distribute vehicle assignments in advance of receipt of new vehicles resulting in additional optimizations in work-load distribution.
