Abstract: A trigger mechanism for a rifle having a trigger housing, a trigger, a cocking piece, a bolt lock, a pivotable safety key, a pivotable sear, a sear engagement, and a ball détente spring. The sear engagement is fixedly attached to the upper part of the trigger. The safety key has a bolt lock guide that is configured to move the bolt lock among three different positions, each of which corresponds to a position of the ball détente spring on the inside of the safety key. When the bolt lock is in the first position, neither the bolt nor the trigger can move. When the bolt lock is in the second position, the bolt is free to rotate, but the trigger cannot move. When the bolt lock is in the third position, the bolt is free to move, and the trigger can also move.
