  • Patent number: 11136141
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to methods and systems for avoiding a collision between an aircraft on the ground and an obstacle using a three-dimensional visual indication of the area or plane of winglets on the wingtips of the aircraft. The method includes receiving a video image from a camera positioned in one of the winglets, the video image representing a field of view through which the winglet of the aircraft will pass along a present heading of the aircraft. Next a processor determines a three-dimensional area or plane within the field of view through which the winglet of the aircraft will pass. An overlay is displayed within the field of view to assist the pilot in avoiding collisions with obstacles.

  • Publication number: 20160150195
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for monitoring, recording and/or reporting information about incidents that occur within proximity of an aircraft. When an incident monitoring mode is activated, external imagers of the aircraft begin recording of video images outside the aircraft in a temporary buffer as pre-event video data. Motion sensors that detect movement in the vicinity of the aircraft, and movement sensors that detect movement of the aircraft are also enabled. When a sensor detects a trigger event, an incident report file (IRF) is saved that includes the pre-event video data that is stored in the temporary buffer. Post-event video images are then recorded in the IRF as post-event video data until a condition occurs. Alarm signals that are perceptible outside the aircraft, and an incident report message can be generated and communicated to an external computer to indicate that an incident has occurred in proximity of the aircraft.

  • Publication number: 20150206438
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to methods and systems for avoiding a collision between an aircraft and an obstacle when the aircraft is being moved on a ground surface via a ground vehicle. When a processor onboard the aircraft determines that the obstacle is located in proximity to the aircraft, the processor generates a warning generator signal, which causes an apparatus to communicate a warning signal that is perceptible to an operator of the ground vehicle to warn the operator of the obstacle.

  • Publication number: 20070123972
Abstract: A modular stent graft assembly (10) for repairing a ruptured abdominal aorta aneurysm (90) and having an aortic section tubular graft (12) and an iliac section tubular graft (14). The aortic section graft has a proximal attachment stent (32) thereon for suprarenal attachment of the assembly (10) to the aorta. A proximal end portion (50) of the iliac section graft (14) underlies the distal end portion (28) of the aortic graft (12) and presses outwardly thereagainst forming a friction fit, at a telescoping region (64). The assembly (10) can be selected from an inventory (300) containing a set of delivery systems (100) of four size aortic section grafts (12) and a set of delivery systems (200) of four size iliac section grafts (14), that together accommodate a large majority of aneurysm sizes, and delivery systems (250) containing four standard sizes of occluders (80).
