Abstract: A host migration system having an first server, a second server and a relay server is provided. The first server is currently hosting an internet service having a predetermined domain name. The first server has a first IP address. The second server has a second IP address and the relay server has a third IP address. The first data packet of a request from users is redirected to the first server from the third server and a second data packet of the request is redirected to the second server from the third server. The data packet redirection may occur as an IP address mapped to the domain name is changed from the first IP address to the second IP address via the third IP address. The host migration system may provide substantially minimized downtime and data loss and corruption may be prevented.

Abstract: In a multi-level redirection method, a first level redirection of a first request is performed based on static information. At a manager, a second level redirection of a second request is performed to an agent server based on dynamic information. The manager is configured to monitor an individual status of the agent server. The static information is associated with selection of the manager and the dynamic information is associated with selection of the agent server. The second level redirection is application redirection performed based on application protocols and contents used in the first and second request.

Abstract: A hosting platform includes a main server layer and an auxiliary server layer. The main server layer includes one or more servers and a server of the one or more servers is designated to process requests for one or more hosts. The auxiliary server layer may be removably coupled to and in communication with the main layer. The auxiliary layer may process the request redirected from the main layer when the designated server of the main layer is overloaded.

Abstract: In a parallel retrieval method for a web request to a particular web host from a client, a request for a target object is redirected to a best agent. The request for the target object is sent according to a designated domain name for agents instead of a domain name of the particular web host. The target object includes a first object and a second object. At the best agent, the request for the first object is associated with a domain name of a first server and the request for the second object is associated with a domain name of a second server. The request for the first object is sent to the first server and the request for the second object is sent to the second server. The client obtains in parallel, the first object from the first server and the second object from the second server.

Abstract: In a shared hosting environment, a message sender is identified based on a system identification of the sender. The system identification is controllable and accessible in the shared hosting environment. Properties of the message are evaluated based on a predetermined rule. The message is distributed upon compliance of the message with the rule.
