Patent number: 11919502Abstract: An electrified fire fighting vehicle includes a battery pack, an electromagnetic device, an engine, and a controller. The controller is configured to monitor a state-of-charge of the battery pack, operate the electromagnetic device using stored energy in the battery pack to provide a performance condition including (i) accelerating the electrified fire fighting vehicle to a driving speed of at least 50 miles-per-hour in an acceleration time and (ii) maintaining or exceeding the driving speed for a period of time, and start and operate the engine in response to a start condition to facilitate reserving sufficient stored energy in the battery pack such that the state-of-charge is maintained above a minimum state-of-charge threshold that is sufficient to facilitate the performance condition. The acceleration time is 30 second or less. An aggregate of the acceleration time and the period of time is at least 3 minutes.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2022Date of Patent: March 5, 2024Assignee: Oshkosh CorporationInventors: Jason Shively, Seth Newlin, David Kay, Jack Bermingham, Jon Morrow, David Steinberger

Patent number: 10055908Abstract: A method and system for improved driver reward display functionality. A driver reward is calculated based on inputs, such as freight fuel, fuel economy, and % idle. The driver reward system configures and displays a primary driver reward image for various menu selections. The primary driver reward image is configured to indicate whether the driver reward is at full penalty, partial penalty, neutral, partial bonus, or full bonus. The image is displayed in one color if above an expected value and another color if below the expected level. Images that indicate to the operator of the vehicle the impact of each input on the overall driver reward or whether each input is improving or worsening may be displayed. A secondary driver reward image may also be displayed to indicate a specific bonus or penalty in miles per hour and speed limit.Type: GrantFiled: July 8, 2016Date of Patent: August 21, 2018Assignee: PACCAR IncInventors: Zachary Slaton, Steven Karl Jahns, Josef Lotz, Jennifer Kim, Jason Morrow, John William Arthur Doll

Patent number: 8993888Abstract: A toneable conduit including an elongate polymeric tube having a sidewall with an interior surface and an exterior surface. The interior surface defines a main channel. A sub-channel, smaller in cross sectional area than the main channel, extends longitudinally between the exterior and interior surfaces of the tube. A continuous toning signal wire is located within the sub-channel. The sub-channel has a larger cross sectional area than a cross sectional area of the toning signal wire and the toning signal wire follows a zigzagging or undulating path within the sub-channel. Alternatively, the sub-channel and toning signal wire have a substantially common cross sectional area and both follow a zigzagging or undulating path from one end of the toneable conduit to the other end. In both embodiments, a given length of toneable conduit will include a length of toning signal wire exceeding that given length.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 2012Date of Patent: March 31, 2015Assignee: CommScope, Inc. of North CarolinaInventors: John Chamberlain, Jason Morrow

Patent number: 8497425Abstract: A toneable conduit includes an elongate polymeric tube having a sidewall with an interior surface and an exterior surface. The interior surface defines a main channel for holding communication or power cables. A sub-channel extends longitudinally between the exterior and interior surfaces of the tube. An electrically continuous, toning signal wire is located within the sub-channel. The toning signal wire is formed of an annealed metal or metals and is capable of elongation to a certain extent without breakage, wherein the certain extent approximates or exceeds the extent of elongation of the tube at the point of failure.Type: GrantFiled: September 20, 2010Date of Patent: July 30, 2013Assignee: CommScope, Inc. of North CarolinaInventor: Jason Morrow

Publication number: 20130037157Abstract: A conduit system includes at least a first conduit formed of an extruded material and a second conduit formed of an extruded material. A jacket surrounds the first and second conduits. The jacket is formed of an extruded material and has a thickness which is less than 50 mils, such as 30 mils. Optionally, the jacket includes at least one strip of material which is weakened so as to tear more easily than other portions of the jacket. Optionally, the jacket has a tensile strength which is less than a tensile strength of the first conduit.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 8, 2012Publication date: February 14, 2013Inventors: Jason Morrow, Zeb Kale, Robert Kidd

Publication number: 20060210750Abstract: The invention is a toneable conduit that can transmit a signal and be readily detected by toning equipment. The conduit can be coupled with other conduit to provide extended lengths of conduit. The toneable conduit includes an elongate polymeric tube having a wall with an interior surface, an exterior surface, and a predetermined wall thickness. A channel preferably extends longitudinally within the wall of the elongate polymeric tube; a stabilizing rib extends longitudinally along the interior surface of the wall of the elongate polymeric tube and is located radially inward from the channel. A continuous wire is coincident with the channel in the elongate polymeric tube and preferably coated with a composition that prevents it from adhering to the polymer melt that forms the elongate polymeric tube. The present invention includes methods of making the toneable conduit and methods of coupling a first toneable conduit with a second toneable conduit.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 22, 2006Publication date: September 21, 2006Inventors: Jason Morrow, Robert Ward, Zeb Kale, Michael Bailey, Christopher Gemme, George Bollinger, Scott Lumley
