  • Publication number: 20250118954
Abstract: An electrical box featuring an improved design that once installed in the stud cavity, allows for air sealing and insulation after the interior sheeting is completed and before final electrical installation. This enhanced electrical box is equipped to accept a spray foam sealant applicator into channels, enabling the transfer of foam sealant through the periphery of box into an enclosed and finished wall cavity. The foam sealant bonds the sheeting, insulation, and box into a single, airtight, and insulated component within the wall cavity.

  • Patent number: 12263364
Abstract: A unique filtering face-piece respirator or mask that is constructed of filtration media capable of sub-micron particle absorption or filtration. Utilizing existing and broadly available low cost media, the mask is patterned from a single sheet of material. It is constructed in a manner that creates an adequate seal as it fits snugly to the user's face, creates structure to ensure a low volume air gap, and deploys unique vertical pleats to increase surface area in order to decrease pressure drop across the mask. Specifically, the design enables the user to inhale and exhale with a pressure drop below 0.4 inches of water at elevated breathing rates of up to 110 liters per hour. Valve design and positioning enable more than 90% of used air to be exited the mask.

  • Publication number: 20240028432
Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes identifying static information associated with a computing device that is running a media playback application. The method also includes monitoring the media playback application during a playback session to identify dynamic information associated with the playback session. Still further, the method includes instantiating a trained machine learning (ML) model to determine, based on historical usage data associated with the media playback application, a likelihood that the media playback application will experience an out of memory kill. The trained ML model implements a graded window to indicate a scaled likelihood that an out of memory kill will occur within a specified timeframe. Then, according to the trained ML model's determination, the method generates a prediction that an out of memory kill will occur for the media playback application within the specified timeframe. Various other methods, systems, and computer-readable media are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10526378
Abstract: The invention provides a method for encapsulating a protein of interest, the method comprising the step of expressing a fusion protein comprising an N-terminal region of a rearrangement hot spot (RHS)-repeat-containing protein fused to the protein of interest. The invention further provides applications for the encapsulation, release and delivery of the protein of interest. The invention also encompasses the encapsulated protein of interest and compositions comprising the encapsulated protein of interest. The invention also provides uses of the encapsulated protein of interest, optionally after release from encapsulation, to control pests. The encapsulated protein of interest may for example be produced via expression in a plant to control a pest of the plant, such as an insect pest.

  • Publication number: 20190208758
Abstract: Fishermen use gaffs to spear, hold and land large fish. This is dangerous when done from a boat and always kills the fish. A gaff consists of a u-shaped steel bar (“shank”) with one end attached to a pole and the opposite end containing a sharp point. The invention, similar to existing gaffs, but designed to hold a fish without harming it, has a blunt end, rather than a point. Instead of spearing fish, it uses two steel, spring activated, one-way gates, that span the opening between the sides of the shank. They open and then close when pulled or pushed across the part of the fish's body to which the tail attaches, making it impossible for the fish to pull its tail free from the space between the closed gates and the curve in the bend of the shank. The fish is then held without harm.

  • Patent number: 9066512
Abstract: A hunting blind includes frame formed by first and second tubular support poles into which first and second rods, respectively, are slideably received. A connector of the frame couples the first and second tubular support poles in a manner that enables those poles to pivot with respect to each other. A brace pole engages the connector. A sheet is attached to each of the first and second support poles and the first and second rods, such as by caps placed onto ends of the support poles and rods. When the rods are extended from the support poles, the sheet is held taut on the frame forming a wall held upright by the brace pole and behind which a hunter can sit. Another embodiment of the hunting blind is formed by connecting two such frames together to form an enclosure for a hunter.

  • Publication number: 20140271108
Abstract: A compressor for a gas turbine engine having a bleed air recirculation system includes a plurality of bleed holes extending through the shroud at a first axial location thereon substantially adjacent the blade tips. The bleed holes have a closed outer perimeter along their complete length. An annular bleed cavity surrounds the shroud and is in communication with outlet openings of the bleed holes. The bleed holes provide communication between said main gas flow passage and the bleed cavity. The bleed cavity includes exit passages having outlets disposed in said shroud at a second axial location which is upstream of both the first axial location and the leading edge of the blades of the rotor. Bleed air is passively bled from the main gas flow passage via the bleed holes, recirculated through the bleed cavity and re-injected back into the main gas flow passage at the second axial location.

  • Patent number: 7387111
Abstract: An in-tank fuel supply unit is provided for supplying fuel from a fuel tank to an engine. The fuel supply unit generally comprises a fuel delivery module and a jet pump assembly selectively attachable to the fuel delivery module. The fuel delivery module has a housing defining a reservoir and includes a fuel pump for pressurizing fuel in the reservoir. The jet pump assembly has a suction tube defining a suction chamber and a nozzle situated inside the suction chamber. The nozzle receives pressurized fuel from the fuel pump and sprays the fuel from a nozzle tip at high velocity to draw additional fuel into the suction chamber through an inlet formed in the suction tube.
